Even though many of us strive to look like our favourite celebrity we should not use their methods of losing weight as often they are dangerous and are unrealistic to achieve with our busy lifestyles.

Remember most of the time these pictures you see have been airbrushed and photoshopped to such an extreme that these celebrity bodies are nothing like what they really look like in the flesh.

Every day there seems to be yet another celebrity showing off the fact they have lost their baby weight in “just 1 month”.

These celebrities like the attention and are willing to go to extreme lengths to get back into shape following the birth of a child.

Average people do not have the time or money to focus on their bodies after childbirth, as nannies and trainers are expensive.

You should never aim to lose weight too quickly, as you may find that the methods you use will be unsustainable and will result in a period of yo-yo dieting, where you will lose weight then regain it as fast as it was originally lost.

A healthy amount of weight to lose is only 2-3 lbs a week.

Celebrity weight loss method #2 – Eating rabbit food

Following the birth of her first child Beyonce was encouraged to lose the extra weight she had gained during pregnancy as quickly as possible.

“They had me on the treadmill, eating lettuce.”

This may possibly be an exaggeration by Beyonce but it would not surprise me, especially when there are albums to be sold.

If you wish to lose weight then depriving yourself of food is certainly not a good idea. You may initially lose weight but once you start eating normally again the lost weight will quickly return.

Drastically cutting your food intake can also lead to nutrient deficiencies that can cause numerous health problems.

Celebrity weight loss method #3 – Drastic diets

Lady Gaga famously tweeted a message to her fans saying:

“#Popstarsdonteat”

Yet if you want to lose weight healthily and keep the weight off long term then starving yourself is definitely not the answer.

This tweet was obviously just to cause controversy, it is just a shame that some misguided fans will believe that this is the only way to stay slim.

Celebrity weight loss method #4 – Pushing yourself in the gym

If you want to lose weight then you should obviously go to the gym, however you must not push yourself too hard.

If you workout too hard then you increase the risk of injury, you will also need adequate rest between workouts (24 hours) to avoid possible over training.

Celebrity weight loss method #5 – You must see those abs

Unfortunately most people will never see their abs, yet even if you cant then you must not give up on your goal of losing weight.

Even losing a few pounds will make you healthier and reduce the risk of suffering many health conditions, such as diabetes for example.

When attempting to lose weight you must forget about trying to look like your favourite celebrity.

These celebrities have a small army of trainers, nutritionists and stylists ensuring they look their best at all times.
