Is Absolute Garcinia a scam?

Is Absolute Garcinia a scam?

Although it has been a while since the benefits of Garcinia Cambogia were discussed on the Dr Oz Show, sales of supplements like Absolute Garcinia have continued to grow.

Unfortunately as with the case of Absolute Garcinia so have the complaints as there are a number of people who feel as though they have been scammed following their decision to sign up for its trial offer.

Let us look at this supplement and the trial to see why there are so many complaints.

Claimed benefits of Absolute Garcinia

Absolute Garcinia makes the following claims:

  • Stop fat from being made
  • Miracle appetite suppressor
  • Increased serotonin levels

To confirm the accuracy of these claims we would need to look at the ingredients that have been used to make this supplement.

Ingredients found in Absolute Garcinia

It is pleasing to see that Absolute Garcinia contains 1100 mg of Garcinia Cambogia with 60% HCA.

This means that the claims made above are accurate and should result in weight loss, especially if you use this supplement alongside a healthy lifestyle, with a good diet and regular exercise.

How much does Absolute Garcinia cost?

Unless you read the terms and conditions at the very bottom of the website you will not know the true cost of this trial.

When you first order you will be charged $5.95, which will cover the cost of postage. What you may not be aware though is that this only allows you to trial the product for 13 days from the time of the initial order.

Once the trial offer elapses you will be charged $87.47, which to make matters worse will continue to be charged to your account every month thereafter until your membership is cancelled.

Is Absolute Garcinia a scam?

Absolute Garcinia is not a scam as it has stated its payment terms in the T&Cs. However, should you sign up for this offer you are likely to feel as though you have been scammed once the true cost is realised.

This is why Absolute Garcinia is not recommended despite it seeming like a good supplement when viewing the ingredients used.

Our recommendation would be to look for an alternative.

  1. I ordered the free trial and paid the shipping cost and I received the pills two weeks ago. After taking them for 16 days there was no change in my weight and I e mailed to say I was not satisfied and very disappointed
Today my bank statement shows that two amounts of £89.99 have been taken out and I am really upset. I cannot afford to spend this money is there anything I can do?

    • Ya. Next time u order anything online …. I mean anything, get a gift card from Walmart and put the exacted amount they ask for. Then there is no way its linked to your bank account.

    • I ordered the “free trial” Absolute Garcinia Now and the Green coffee bean pills and when I received them, I got 2 bottles of the Garcinia. 2 weeks later they charged my card a non-refundable $87.47 AND tried to charge another $84.44. WTH???? Not to mention I haven’t lost a pound. DO NOT PURCHASE THESE PILLS!!!! You can get the same thing at WalMart for $9.99 a bottle. I thought I was getting a better deal at getting both bottles for that price. Stupid me!!! Now my family will be sitting in the dark for at least a week because they refuse to refund me my money! Thanks a lot. I can only hope this scam of a company goes out of business!!!!!

I went through the same thing. NO paperwork was sent nor their procedures for charging your account $87.47 without my authorization. Then they don’t want to give your money back, Managers and Supervisors in Meetings call back in 20 minutes and they keep telling you the same thing.

Everyone DON”T ORDER FROM THIS COMPANY!!!

      • Same problem for my wife. Trying to get answers from this company is a waste of time. Two charges of 87.47 and 84.44. Never do business with this company. We never ordered the product but got charged. You can’t talk to them because they are IDIOTS

    • I echo the same as others have. BEWARE..you will be charged $90+ for each of their products, Absolute Garcinia and Absolute Green Coffee. They say they will give you 14 day trial, but it is from shipment date..up to 5-7 business days..no way to contact them as there will not be a packing slip for contact and how can you determine it works in 3-5 days before they bill you. Expect to be hung up on from customer support. Guess they are also tired of hearing multiple complaints. TOTAL RIP OFF. Hopefully someone from the company will step in to do the right thing for customers.

    • Hear, Hear! I second the motion. This is deceptive marketing at it’s prime. You HAVE to click the TOS to get the “Free Trial”, and you need at least a BA in Law to read it. When I called to cancel, soon as I got it, I was offered a “free trip to the Bahamas” all I had to do was pay 59.99 for booking fees. They tried every way under the sun to promote this. I told then, “no thanks, cancel me”. Thay said I still had 9 days left on my trial, to call back then. I told them I wanted it cancelled NOW, and wanted a conformation in my email. The guy was hesitant, until I asked for his name, then he sent me the conformation. I told them if they weren’t so deceptive, they actually could do something with this company. I think it fell on deaf ears. One more thing, be careful you didn’t sign up for the Green Coffee, or you will be billed 2 times!

    • The same thing happened to me, I ordered them only paying the S&H, thankfully I check my statement through my banking app and the minute I saw that outrageous charge that I apparently hadnt read the small print about, . I called them and told them that I had immediately cancelled my membership and didn’t authorize any additional charges, I was pissed because they hit my bank account while I was out of town and money was extremely tight so I threw a fit!!! and they said they would refund me 50% but that wasn’t good enough for me, so I called my bank immediately and told them it was an unauthorized charge, and I never gave them permission to take that money. My bank reversed the transaction and refunded me my money right away and just let me know that any refund I got from them would be taken from them (which was fine) but at least I got my money back. I hate shady companies—u should have called your bank immediately.

  2. I placed an order for this trial product this past Sunday, July 20th. My order conf. Via e-mail only showed an order for the mango cleanse for $7.95 shipping charges. However, my bank shows my account has been debited for the $7.95 charge two times and I have been charged $5.97 for the Garcinia. When I called to request one of the $7.95 charges be credited back to my account, I was told the company does not refund shipping charges. I was unable to speak to a supervisor and was told I would have to be called back, (which I have not been).

Based on what I have read in others’ comments, I do not want this company to be able and charge my credit card for unwanted monthly charges as others have been. I am going to get a new credit card which will be an inconvenience for legitimate companies I have monthly charges debited.

When I call one number i get the message “all of our representatives are currently helping other customers” and then it hangs up on me or it rings 3 times and hangs up.

When I called another number I was told it will take more then a month to even see results so I asked “how do you get charged in 13days if its a trail but you wont know if its really working till a month or so after?” and I got no response.

This is a scam they are cheating people out of their money.

I cancelled my account, got the confirmation email, and told them if they take another penny out I’d be contacting a lawyer. Of course, they won’t send you an email saying your trial period is almost up. What a rip off! I know its my fault for expecting something for nothing, and it won’t happen again.

  9. In order to obtain a refund for the Absolute Garcinia Products, you will have to do the following:

Remain calm, and write these questions down on a paper or in a text document.

    1. What is your Company’s Name? Absolute Garcinia

    2. What is your company’s website? absolutegarcinianow.com

    3. What is your company’s e-mail address? support@absolutegarcinia.com

    4. What is your company’s address? 3760 W. MCFADDEN AVE, B602 SANTA ANA, CA 92704

    5. What is your company’s phone #? 800-317-4070

    6. What is a way your company identifies you as their employee? Katie S.

    7. Keep this in mind – You do realize that the FTC (Federal Trade Commission) takes a special interest in military service members getting scammed, frauded or taken advantage of.

Once you have written them all down, go ahead and call 800-965-0627. You will wait on hold for a bit (1-5 minutes). When they answer they will ask you to verify your information, go ahead and do so and then let them know that you would like to cancel your account and also request a refund for the $84.44 and the $87.47 that was charged to your credit card. They will say that after the trial period, it became a purchase. You can then further expound on that if a refund is not issued that you will then file an FTC complaint with the company and in order to do this you will have to obtain some information for the FTC complaint (which you currently have up on your computer at the moment). This is the website for the complaint section for online shopping (ftccomplaintassistant.gov/Details#crnt). They will say that you agree to the terms and conditions, disregard that and continue to REMAIN CALM. Proceed to begin asking the above questions in the order they are numbered. If you so need to let them know about #7 (as this will work, you may have to say it twice.) Please also remind them that you are recording the conversation on your cell phone (do this, you can always delete it once you get your refund). This is another reason that you will remain calm – if you lose your cool, this will not help you.

The answers above are also a way to make sure they are telling you the truth. #6 was my representatives name (could be different for you).

Either way, my total conversation lasted about 10 minutes, and I was on hold for about 5 minutes and 12 seconds of those 10 minutes.

    • Thank you so much for this good information. I too was shocked to see a charge on my credit card of $87 for this small bottle of whatever it is. I thought I was only going to pay $4.95 shipping. Of course I got the same story when I called to complain. No refund. It was past my 14 day trial period. I have only taken two pills out of the bottle, and even though it has been 19 days, I am sending it back. I stupidly did not keep the box so I am sending it in a Verizon phone box. Ha ha! I called my credit card company to stop the payment. They are sending me a dispute claim and I will get the charges reversed. What a scam. I don’t understand how a company can stay in business when they operate this way. Live and learn! Thanks everyone!

  10. Garcinia Ultima is definitely a scam. I ordered these purely because they lead me to believe that I would be receiving a free sample of these tablets. I stupidly put in my address & bank details and only after I completed the order, did it tell me that I would be charged in 30 days time – but didn’t specify what amount. I felt deeply mislead and contacted the company at once (via email) requesting a cancellation. Shock horror – they never replied to any of my attempts to contact them.

I have since called my bank and explained the situation. They said it was definitely a scam, but nothing could be done until the company actually removed any money from my account, as they didn’t know who would be taking the money so couldn’t block the transaction. It then occurred to me that garcinia ultima had charged me £2.50 postage costs beforehand with the reference ‘DIET ULTIMO PLATIN’ and using this info, my bank could then block this company taking any future money from my account.

Things worth mentioning to the bank:
    – The company said the product was free, and only mentioned any charges after you’d already signed up to the trial
    – The company did not specify how much they would charge
    – They said you can cancel the trial at any point, but you have tried to contact them and they have not responded (you need to have tried to cancel before the bank will do anything)

Anyone who has been roped into this scam I really urge you to contact your bank. They’re fully aware of scams like this and can block any future payments as well as refunding previous ones. The lady I talked to was very understanding.

    Hope this helps!

    • Me as well. I ordered this free trial because I saw it on FB supposedly on the Dr. Oz show. I instantly ordered it. I then googled it and saw the reports and that dr oz doesn’t support any products. I got paranoid for I do remember seein that you will be charged $77 monthly. I haven’t got the product yet, but I called and requested them to cancel the service. The lady got irrate and angry that I hadn’t even got the pills nor even tried and went on about making it affordable. I had to tell her 3x to cancel it and tell her I didn’t like her tone. She did cancel it, gave me my confirmation # and I got the email. I thought about cancelling my debit card, but didn’t want to go through the hassel. Reading all of the other emails, Im praying that since they have my information that they don’t try and take the $$ out anyways.

Just spoke to Michelle at 800-317-4070. She would not even listen to me – just kept talking over me. I told her I was turning them into the FTC because she refused to refund my money. She claims they are not a scam – however the part of their “terms” to charge after 14 days is well hidden. A legitimate company would disclose this prominently and should also follow up with an email before the trial time is up. DO NOT do business with this company.

  16. I too was scammed. Nowhere on the website did it say anything about a trial period of 13 days nor in the packaging. Like Eddie above, the young lady tried to get me to delay my shipment and receive her discount of 50%. They definitely train their representatives well. . DO NOT order from this company. A legitimate company would be upfront with a trial period and what the consequences were of not getting back with them in the appropriate amount of time.

  17. I agree this site is awful. I also stupidly added the Absolute Mango Cleanse to go with the Garcinia Ultima and by the time I realized they had charged me for the free 30 day supply they had already charged me for a new bottle. I called to cancel and they also tried to get me to purchase more at 50% discount. He also told me I should try “their” mango cleanse. I told him I already did and it didn’t work either. I told them I wasn’t interested and they said they would send me the cancellation email which they did. I told them I also needed to cancel the mango cleanse and he said they didn’t handle that part that they only did the Garcinia Ultima. Low and behold I get another bottle of the mango cleanse and charged for both bottles but it doesn’t have any number to call and cancel or any type of account number, so I am thinking it should all be under the same account. How do I stop them from continued billing for the mango cleanse? The address on the envelope is the same as the Garcinia so it must all be the same company.

I called their customer service, and asked why I was charged so soon, and I never really got any answers. After offering several times to give me different discounts and going over all the “benefits” of the pills, I was told there was nothing they could do about the $87 charge, but that they’d cancel any future charges.

  27. Total Scam! It doesn’t even work. I tried to leave a message/review on there webpage and was unable to find a place to do so. I agree these people have no shame. I too was charged for two separate amounts for the two bottles, and when I tried to get my money back they said it was non-refundable after 13 days of the trial. I started the trial on 11/28th and called them on the 12/10th to take care of it (which is 12 days). She first said the date started on the 28th and when I challenged her that it was less than 13 days, and then she changed her version and said the 11/22nd which is when I ordered it. I got two different messages from the rep during the same call. I even said I would return the remaining 30 day supply to get my refund, and pay for the shipping. And still was told no refund. I filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. I am sure nothing will change with AG company, because any people that have established this type of policy and beyond having a conscience at all. I find it repulsive they would do this to people. There information was misleading and with inconsistent messages. I intend to spread the word about this company and their product!! I sure learned from this incident.

  29. NEVER, NEVER, NEVER ORDER THIS PRODUCT!!!!!!!!!
THIS IS A TOTAL RIPOFF. THEIR SHIPPING DEPARTMENT IS A JOKE. THEY BASICALLY HOLD OFF SHIPPING UNTIL DAYS AFTER, THEN THE TRIAL PERIOD ENDS BEFORE YOU’VE EVEN HAD A CHANCE TO FINISH THE PRODUCT OR SEE RESULTS.

I ordered this product and didn’t receive it until ten days later. Then three days later the trial period ended and I was charged $87.47 and $84.44, respectively. When I contacted customer service, they said I was being charged for the trial period which ended five days previously. When I tried to explain that I didn’t receive my order until ten days after I ordered, she offered me a 50% refund on both. I asked her how I was supposed to see any results in 3 days. I then asked to speak to a supervisor. I was on hold for quite a while, and then the representative came back on and stated that her supervisor had looked at my account and was offering a 75% refund on both. I told her to cancel my accounts and that I was calling my bank to dispute the charges.

After I hung up, I got an email stating they had refunded 75% of both products and canceled my accounts. WTH? I never agreed to that. I only hope that my bank will still refund the remaining charges.

I did contact my bank, but the charges are pending, and once they post, they will take care of it. I’m also filing a complaint with the Better Business Bureau, FTC and I sent an email to their website.

THE RESPONSE ABOVE ABOUT USING A WALMART CARD WITH ONLY THE AMOUNT THEY ARE ASKING FOR IS GENIUS. ANY FUTURE ORDERS ONLINE I MAKE IN THE FUTURE WITH ANY COMPANY WILL BE DONE WITH A WALMART CARD. GREAT IDEA!!!!!

  34. I had decided not to order this and was expecting a “cart” page, but the order just went through on Saturday, 12/27, when their customer service isn’t open. Since I seem to have some sort of flu, I put off calling until today because I wasn’t up to arguing to get this cancelled. So I charged my cell phone, got a computer game up to entertain me while I was on hold and dialed. Imagine my surprise when my call was answered right away and although the woman tried to offer me a trial extension and/or 1/2 price to continue my “subscription”, she was nice about it and I got the following e-mail within minutes. This is also true of the Absolute Caffeine which I had to call another number for. Of course now I’ll have to keep checking my bank account to make sure no unauthorized charges show up. If they do, I will register a dispute with the card company which will deduct any charges while it’s being settled and contact the Consumer Affairs Division of the Florida State Attorney’s office. Florida gets extremely upset when anyone tries to scam us old people! But I really hope I don’t have to.

By the way, my bottle says it contains 1000 mg on the list of facts on the back and 1100 on the front. Anyway, it’s a shame these people don’t just offer their product at a decent price and be satisfied with the profit from that instead of scamming people.

    Here’s what both e-mails read:

Thank you for using Absolute Garcinia – Trial. This email is to inform you that your subscription status has been recently updated and any ongoing or all future charges have been cancelled as per your request.

If you have any questions about the cancellation of this subscription, or if you would like to re-activate the same in the future, please feel free to contact our Customer Service team.

  35. Ok. I messed up and placed my order today. Then I found this website after I placed my order. Has anyone found out how to cancel the order before they start taking money I can’t afford out of my bank account?

    • Call and make sure you Cancel before the 13 day trial is up. If you ordered the coffee beans call that company to cancel also.

  36. It cracks me up to read all your comments about this company “scamming” you. If you read the terms and conditions you will see where it says that after the 13 day free trial you will be charged 87.00 if you dont call and cancel your membership. Its the same thing when you order the green coffee pills also. Its a seperate shipping number and a seperate membership you need to call and cancel. So instead of being upset with this company maybe you all should be upset at yourselves for not fully reading the T&C. I just ordered mine last month and had no issues canceling it before the free trial was up because I was smart enough to read everything before i hit “rush my order”. Just sayin!

    • Just saying people feel like they were scammed because these idiots automatically enroll you to different services. I never not once agreed or signed up for live body coach I simply wanted to try out the absolute garcinia and cancel within 13 days as I read 13 trial days but with 30 day supply obviously that means I will probably end up paying for at least half the bottle which was fine by me but now I was approved and automatically signed up for live body coach a trial of 21 days and about 20 a month unless I cancel. That is a scam.

    • Good for you! So you say this smugly! Don’t be so quick to look down on others. This company’s tactics are unethical. No matter how you say the “fine print” was there. They preyed on the people and all involved will reap what they have sown.

  37. Yes, this is a big scam!!!!!! 🙁 Be real careful, the claim is that the pills will help you lose weight and get flat abs….That is total bull!!!!!!!!!!!!! not to mention the company will debit your bank card for 87.47 for a membership they claim is in full view. The disclaimer is at the very bottom under the very small FONT UNDER disclaimer in very small font. DO NOT FALL FOR THIS PIECE OF CRAP. IF YOU DO USE A PREPAID CARD AND SAVE YOURSELF THE TROUBLE OF HAVING TO CLOSE YOUR CREDIT OR DEBIT CARDS. A BIG LESSON LEARN!!!!!!!! 🙁

  40. Okay so I called to cancel both the absolute diet pills and green coffee trial last week, i was given a confirmation # for canceling and today I see they still charged me $84.44 For the green coffee. I called to see why and apparently the lady I spoke with l last week never canceled the green tea! Lady I spoke with today said they were suppose to tell me last week they could only cancel one order per day when I specifically asked if the confirmation# was for both and she said yes! I am pissed. Can’t even get that money back!

My daughter order this because she has an eating disorder!!!! So scrambling to find all the info about what she ended up getting I quickly call the 800- 317-4070 number to cancel. I explain things to the person and canceled it. I even got a email confirming the cancel. I only then discovered down the road they were still charging my account. Called that same # and told me that there was another on for the green coffee stuff….@@@@ what the f didn’t they tell me that when i cancel the first time. So i call the # they gave me 800 956 0627…. only to be an advertisement for a trip. I’m so angry they charged my account twice (84.44) for this crap, and i only have received the first trial bottle. I dont want it!!! I asked the lady dont you think it is outrageous for this price. So i closed my card and stopped it. I need to find out how to get a hold of the absolute coffee to get my money back. Totally scam

  43. I ordered the Free Trial bottle in Dec. 2014 to only pay $4.95 for s & h. I got a bottle the next month. I got billed $87.47 at end of their trial period. Got a 2nd billing for $87.47 but no bottle. So thats twice being billed $87.47 plus the original $4.95. Then in early March I got the 2nd bottle and they billed again for $87.47. On this day I called Absolute Garcenia two times to stop this order and demand a refund. Then I called my credit card company and they told me I got charged 3 times the $87.47 which was in addition to the $4.95. Credit card company told me I could dispute ALL the transactions if I report them within 3 months so I did. Meanwhile the next day I again called Ab Gar and spoke for 3rd time with Logan. I have talked to Michelle and Katie and they were pleasant but deferred me to Logan. Logan was surprised I called 3 times but I told him I’m at the address, want to meet him. He tells me he’s in Ohio. I sent back the 2 bottles as we discussed and I should be getting reimbursed, he sent confirm emails. He wanted $6 each for the 2 bottles so I agreed to that. But my credit card company will dispute all the charges. I have to wait & see what will happen. I never opened either bottle, the first one just sat in a drawer for several weeks, the newer bottle I just got but didn’t break the seal. I don’t like dealing with companies who are dishonest like the comments state. Thanks.

  44. It did say in the fine print that they charge, before hitting submit always read the fine print. It said to cancel before two weeks or you would be charged and it is not refundable. I see so many people saying they scammed then when it clearly said this! READ PEOPLE

  45. I ordered this product on March 9th and immediately after ordering I did a little research and saw that it will charge me. That same day after I got off work I canceled both orders. (Thank goodness I screen shot every order I make online) because it was the only way I could find both phone numbers. I was told that my order was canceled and given a confirmation number for both. I was pretty sure I canceled before it could be shipped to me but 2days ago one of the bottles came in the mail. I immediately called the number again and the woman assured me that the order was canceled and I can keep the bottle and won’t be charged anything else. I have decided to send it back anyway because this company makes me feel very uneasy. Hopefully they don’t charge me anything else. I will be calling them again today along with my bank to make sure it does not happen.

  46. Very pleased I looked t this page. Cancelled within the free trial but just to be sure I’ve also cancelled my debit card. Hassle and lesson learned. They’re a hard sell for what I believe is. Computer program customer service.

Best tip: make sure you call both numbers is you ordered the green coffee too. They have a number for each.

  47. they are not a reputable company! I had similar issues as the other comments. Received three charges of $87.47 and they refused to provide credit. Finally they agreed to send me a $100 Target gift card but that took a lot of waiting on hold and explaining multiple times that I was not interested in keeping the product, having them help me lose weight or any of the other crap they were trying to sell. It makes me wonder, if they are this dishonest during the sale process, what is really in the capsules?

  48. I ordered this…and 10 minutes after I placed my order for the free trial I called and canceled my membership! They still shipped me my trial and was never charged any money! Yes they answered the phone and tried to give it to me at a discounted price but I declined.

  49. Total garbage. Both the product and the marketing company behind it. It took me over an hour, three different 800 numbers and dealing with three different people who kept trying to up-sell me to finally get this cancelled. I rarely lose my temper, but I was screaming at one point because they would not stop reading their script and trying to keep me on their product. These people are unethical.

  51. Call your bank and have them put a hold on anything from this company where no more money can be taken out or have a new card issued to you. Also contact FTC and BBB as I did so these places will be shut down!!! No responses to emails and no refund was given when I asked. Poor business practices and I’m glad so many folks have now realized it but not before we’ve lost lots of money.

  52. A complete scam and rip off! Do not fall for this. Nothing about it is legitimate. They should be shut down and also arrested for their scamming ways! Have reported them to the FTC and the BBB also.

  53. Asked for the trial which has never been delivered. I have been charged 89.31. When I called, the young woman who took my call said I needed to cancel the order after the trial within 15 days if I didn’t want it. I never did get the trial, so cancellation within15 days after the trial was not possible for me because I never had the chance to try the product. I was told they had sent the trial to me, so I needed to pay for not ordering within 15 days. Total SCAM!!!!!

All of us who have been scammed could write to the Better Business Bureau and the Federal Trade Commission. The more people who have been scammed by this company and let the BBB and FTC know about it, the better the chance the BBB and/or FTC will shut them down!

    • I completely agree with the above statement. I ordered a beauty product which I was partially scammed on and this product did I never intend to get but somehow must have clicked on something I shouldn’t have and they claim I ordered this. I never received the trial and have been fighting with my credit card company that I never received nor ordered. The company Absolute Garcinia is refusing to credit my money. Definitely a SCAM.
