Is Advanced Ketone Plus a scam?

Is Advanced Ketone Plus a scam?

Sales of Raspberry Ketone supplements have increased significantly over the past year or so thanks to its appearance on the Dr Oz Show.

Unfortunately despite its proven ability to burn fat there is a risk surrounding the purchase of certain supplements.

Supplements made available through a trial are a notorious scam that has left thousands of people across the globe out of pocket.

How these trials work is that they will get you to sign up at a low price to cover the postage, yet what you are really signing up for is an auto-shipping program where you will be charged an extortionate amount every month thereafter.

These auto-ship companies are often difficult to cancel and can result in people losing hundreds of pounds.

Advanced Ketone Plus is offered as a trial, but does that automatically mean that it is a scam. Lets find out ourselves shall we?

What does Advanced Ketone Plus claim?

The following claims are made on the Advanced Ketone Plus website:

  • Lose your cravings
  • Burn stored fat
  • Retain muscle mass
  • Stop feeling hungry
  • Eat less, feel better

Before we can say whether these claims are accurate we will need to look at what ingredients are present in the formula and at what dosages.

Advanced Ketone Plus ingredients

Advanced Ketone Plus contains Raspberry Ketones, Caffeine, Green Tea, Apple Cider, Kelp and Grapefruit.

Unfortunately there is no mention at all of any dosages or whether there are any filler ingredients included.

Therefore there is no way of verifying the claims made by Advanced Ketone Plus.

Each of these ingredients have been shown to help with the slimming process so it is a shame that the dosages have not been included.

Price of Advanced Ketone Plus

As with the ingredients there is no mention of the price on the homepage of Advanced Ketone Plus.

It is only when you look at their terms and conditions that you will realise the full horror of signing up to its trial.

Upon signing up you will be charged £4.95 to cover the cost of postage.

Then after the initial 14 day trial period you will be charged £94.97. With subsequent payments of the same amount, plus postage every month thereafter until cancelled.

Not only is this an extortionate amount, but unless you read the terms and conditions thoroughly it will be easy to miss the true cost of this trial.

Is Advanced Ketone Plus a scam?

The method in which Advanced Ketone Plus gets your money is certainly underhanded and will undoubtedly lead to claims that it is a scam.

They are covering themselves legally through their terms and conditions, but this does not change the fact that they are essentially tricking you into signing up for an expensive product that may not work.

In our opinion trial offers of diet products should be avoided. Of course they seem tempting, but please read any terms and conditions before you hand over your payment information.

How to contact Advanced Ketone Plus?

If you have been unfortunate enough to sign up for the trial of Advanced Ketone Plus and wish to cancel then you can send them an email at service@ketonesupport.com, there is also a phone number 0844 770 7435

Their address is:

  1. I fell for the free trial just pay postage scam, i have been trying to ring and cancel this for the last 3 days but seem to just be on hold constantly. I have also emailed ketone and still not had a reply.

I have had to flag it up with my bank so that no future payments go through as i couldn’t afford the extortionate amounts they want monthly.

Hopefully i will get some response as my 14 day trial time is running out and its not due to me not trying to cancel it.

        • i don’t believe they have ceased trading as they are still taking money, which i believe they cannot do if they are not trading.

My partner has just been debited for £94 and they are trying to debit another £94 tomorrow!!

Barclays have been very good, they know its a scam, have stopped payment and are looking to reclaim the money that has been debited

If they get loads of complaints maybe they will sit up and take note and stop these crooks I went on Glasgow councils website and mailed them it didn’t take long worth a try surely. This company is run by crooks and I am a victim it’s discusting and I will try to contact everyone I can think of to try and stop them

      • Unfortunately I have done the same and noticed £94.97 and £79.97 taken from my account on 5th July. I am contacting bank first thing to stop future payments. I have now emailed service@ketonesupport.com and will await their response.
It is disgusting that they can do this without any contact, emails, or invoice address etc and yet the website looks kosher.
I don’t even want to try the tablets.
Please let me know if you have any luck and I will do the same.
        All the best.

        • I have done exactly the same as you, which is not like me to fall for a scam. Perseverense though has got me a full refund even after they had confirmed my account had been closed. They gave me £55 refund on first phone call, on receipt of confirmation email it was split for the ketone and nuri green coffee. More refund for the coffee which was almost half so I rang again and said if you can give half refund for coffee why not half for the ketone, they gave me another £30, so I thought better than nothing. A few days later I rang again and said I thought it was very unfair and that it had made me so ill I had lost weight without using them. They gave me RMA numbers and was told to return them and I would get a full refund. I sent them guaranteed next day delivery, they arrived Monday morning and I have a signature, still no refund so have just rung again, given them my proof of posting barcode and instantly received two confirmation emails that I have been given £87 refund, so full refund in total in the end – RESULT. So please please keep on and fingers crossed you get the refund.

          Good luck

I did not sign up for anything other than a months trial not 2 weeks and £160 later.
Not knowing where they came from doesnt help.
      Thank you

  2. I too fell for this scam. I returned the bottles as requested, received a confirmation email and no charges on my December credit card account. Then at the end of January they have charged me approximately £150, and demand the tracking number for the returned items.

As I thought it was all sorted I threw away the tracking paper last week. I am currently going through a dispute with the company through my credit card who tell me they have had a number of complaints about this company.

I have an email from Ketone customer service confirming my account is closed on the 25/12/13 but then they charged me on the 27th!

I have not received any further products, so they are charging me for nothing!!

    Reply
    • Hi, I too have had the same experience, I returned the bottles as requested with the rma numbers clearly shown on the package. The lady I spoke to on the phone guaranteed I would not have any further money deducted, yet £150 was taken in February. they are now saying unless I tell them the tracking number of the packages I will not get a refund. This is outrageous- how have you got on without the tracking number?

  3. I too fell for this scam. I emailed twice and received emails back stating I should phone. I phoned many times either being told to phone back later or was left hanging on and even been cut off.

Informed my Bank Santander who explained that I should phone them on various numbers they had for these merchants which I did and to keep emails sent which I did. Phoned my bank again today and they have put a stop on any transactions from both of these companies. Also if any amount does go through before the stop they will reimburse me the next day.

Hopefully all is now sorted. Warning do not ever sign up for a trial.

  4. My husband looked at this product ketone advanced on facebook he inadvertently put his bank details on but did not sign up to terms and conditions and left the page. on 4/2/14 they took £6.95 for postage and packing and on the13/2/14 they took a further £94 from our bank account this is this biggest SCAM I ever heard of. We have tried without success to contact them via email and phone. I believe they are based in Belize but no one will answer any calls, they also seem to be connected to a company called NutraPro.I am determined to get this money back however long it takes

  5. I fell for this scan by not reading their terms and conditions properly and have just had the first payment be taken from my bank account. I have just spoken to my bank who have cancelled all further payments to both Raspbery Keytone and Green Coffee Cleanse.

My bank said they had numerous customers having the same problem and they gave me a phone number which is the same for both products. I have just called and got an answer very quickly and cancelled both subscriptions.
    The number is: 0800 014 9645.

Hope this helps other folk like me.

    • I was charged for the first 2 bottles after the trial ran out, 3 days apart, and a month later was charged for the raspberry ketone again – I then noticed and rang my bank to block further charges. I just rang the number above and am apparently able to get a partial refund for the latest charge, was charged £94 and and getting £67 back. I asked for this confirmed by email, hopefully will actually get the money back! He asked if I had opened the first 2 bottles, unfortunately I had, so if you catch it sooner than I did, don’t open the bottles and you might be able to get some money back from them as well. Nasty business, hope you all get some money back x

      • My bank barclays have cancelled both the subscriptions for me they said this has happened to other people as well. I have also open the bottles will i be able to get the full amount back even though i have opened it?

    • You said you fell for the scam without reading the terms & conditions. I also did exactly the same. And had amounts taken out of my bank account (not just the ‘Free Trial’ postage & packing!!) You say your bank gave you a phone number & you rang the number and got an answer quickly, but did you get a refund? Iv blocked any further payments being taken from my bank, but that doesn’t make me feel any better with regard to the amount they have already taken.

  6. I had exactly the same experience as Anne, I called the number she gave and got through within a minute. My credit card company are also cancelling the subscription from their end so only further charges are for returning the unused product hopefully.

  7. I am in the process of returning my ‘Free Trial’ of Ketone Advanced and Nutra Cleanse to avoid being caught up in the auto-shipment scam. They are extremely difficult to get hold of but I managed to get through on the telephone later in the evening around 9.30pm. I’m still within my return date although I have found that they do send the product to you quite a while after you order leaving you a shorter timeframe to return. Make sure you get an RM number from them for returning the goods and make sure that this is on the address label of the package you send back. Also make sure you get a tracking number from the post office as they insist that you notify them of this as soon as you post the product back

  8. I have just experienced the same thing. I went on to the link after reading the Chanel 4 report by
Sarah Miller and thought it would be safe. Apparently NOT!! I realised very soon it was a scam. I cancelled my card but this does not ensure money will not be taken as they still have your account details. I went one further, went into my bank and explained the situation, I simply closed my account altogether. According to the bank once you have given your details on the internet it’s very
Difficult to get out of as entering into a contract. My bank advised leaving the £9.90 in the account as I have agreed to this but not for auto deliveries. They will simply not be able to claim any further
Money as no funds will be in the account and I even taken off my overdraft. Let’s scam the scammers!! I have telephoned three times and they say they do not recognise my details and have emailed three times, again no response and I have not even had an email to confirm my order. The only response I had is to say the the email address is not valid!!

    • Gwen the banking bit is untrue – you provided your card number, which you have stopped. You presumably did not give your sort code and account number. If they do have that for whatever reason they can apply for a direct debit – at which point tell the bank you want to cancel it. If you notice it going out, as long as you advise the bank the same day before 3.30pm, they MUST recall the direct debit. The way the banks have backed this company up, I believe they are all part of the same scam.

Called back yesterday and was told to wait another 24 hours. Not sure what for. I will call everyday just to p*** them off. Im frightened now that they have the product from me though, where left is there for me to go?

  11. I have had the same problem followed a link on Facebook the terms and conditions link did not work. They took £94 from my bank on the 15th day I rang and told them that I believed this was a scam and the gave me on RMA number to send goods back, I did this using a tracking number they received the goods back within the 21 days, I told them I wanted to cancel and that they were not to take any further money from my bank, I also contacted my bank to put a stop to them trying to take any more money. The bank are well aware of this scam and have a lot of angry customers.
They have now taken another £94 using a different name and number on the transaction. This is an american company and I would like to know who it can be reported to in america to have this company investigated and sorted.

Would you kindly tell me what the payee name is on your bank statement? I would be so grateful, as I need to stop any payments that might go through my bank and don’t know what the details to give the bank are!

    • first of all contact your bank and tell them to stop any more payments being taken from your account. Make sure you don’t break the seal on the tablets as you will need to send them back. When I first spoke to someone at the company they wouldn’t give me a RMA number so I kept repeating to them that I was going to send them back anyway. I sent them back by recorded delivery and made sure that I kept the post office receipts. You can tell when they have been received and signed for by checking the ‘barcode’ number on the receipt on the royal mail website. I then rang the company again and gave them all the details they needed. to start with they said that as I hadn’t put an RMA number on the package there was nothing they could do, so I told them that I wasn’t given an RMA number despite asking for one. I gave them the ‘barcode’ number from the post office receipt. They kept putting me on hold and at one point there was a terrible screeching interference noise on the line. JUST BE PATIENT AND POLITE, DON’T HANG UP. Once this terrible interference had stopped they said that because of customer courtesy they would refund my money. I now have it all safely back in my account. GOOD LUCK

The ketone product is mentioned throughout the document but nowhere is the green coffee. Could I get them on a technicality that the green coffee is not mentioned therefore not part of the contract? 19. Hi, I was robbed of £600 by this company over a period of three months. I was not aware that after trial period they will continue taking money out of your account without your knowledge or permission. I thought trial period meant that if you are happy, you will order more stuff, otherwise its a one off purchase. I went mad when I found out that they were taking a £95 per package for each tablets. This scam is too big for Joe public to handle. This company has probably wiped millions of pounds off from unsuspecting public accounts which we cant get back. This is a civil crime of very high level, its a cyber theft and is illegal. I think its about time that The Trading Standard people kicked in to solve this scam and get people their hard earned money back.

I wanted to see how long it would take for the tablets to arrive only to find all these comments from everyone saying how much of a scam it is. I have emailed them twice however had no response. I then phoned one lady who told me she could not cancel the account but gave me an RMA number to send the product back to but i decided that this was not enough I wanted the account to be canceled straight away as I felt that the product could not have been sent already. I phoned 0844 770 743 and the guy told me he could cancel my account and the product would not be send but i would still be charged the pp price. I said that this was fine, i just wanted to cancel the product and account and he said i should receive an email within 24 hours. No sign of the email yet. I was just wondering if anyone had any more advice?

  23. It looks like I’m not the only one then! I fell for this as well and after reading the reviews, I panicked and emailed customer services the following day. I actually got a response but only to tell me that they cannot in fact cancel your account and you have to ring the premium rate 0844 number which I did. I spoke to a guy who said I would not be charged for the samples but they if they turned up, I could keep them. He also closed my account. Apparently all of this was to be confirmed in an e-mail which obviously never came. I emailed customer services again for clarification and I’m still waiting for a reply 7 days later. In the meantime I have also been charged for the samples postage. Had to ring the 0844 number again and have now been told that my account is closed (we’ll see!) and because of this, I won’t receive the samples or a refund on the postage. As long as no further money is taken from my account, I can live with losing a few pounds. It has also taught me a big lesson !!!

  25. I bought the keytone and green tea not knowing it was a scam. it was until i checked my bank statement before i realised that i had incurred additional charges of 94.97 and 79.97 pounds. but the 14 day trial period had already passed. i immediately called my bank to cancel all further payments.i might just cancel that card if push comes to shove. luckily for me i paid with a credit card so mybank may refund me. i also called the keytone company on 08447707434, they said they couldn’t refund the whole amount because i agreed to the T & C and the trial period had passed. i threatened them with lawsuits and threw around words like fraudulent misrepresentation. they finally agreed to refund half of the amount. but i am thinking if they can refund half, then they can refund all. so i am going to keep on calling until i get all my money back. they also agreed to cancel my subscription and i got an email from them immediately confirming that, so that’s sorted. i hope no one falls victim of this scam anymore!

I also phoned being unnerved and requested a cancellation in shipment for both the nutra green coffee plus and advanced ketone. At first they said the auto delivery plans have been cancelled but I stated that because I phoned immediately the product would not be dispatched therefore I do not need to be charged for P&P and did not want the pills shipped. I got hung up on 3 times and I kept phoning back until someone spoke to me. They said P&P is non refundable. In their terms and conditions section 1 paragraph 3 it states that the customer will not be charged for P&P until the product is dispatched so tell them this on the phone as you would not have received a shipment confirmation email. I also got the man to confirm numerous times that the auto delivery payment plan had been cancelled and that it is the end of the matter and recorded the whole conservation on my iphone should I need it.

  31. Hey hey I just managed to get out of it quoting them with there own terms and conditions. After 20 minutes of telling me I couldnt return the product and the charges had been taken, I read the terms and conditions for the first time. I explained how they were at fault for me not reading them in the first place as the pop up window was too small to display all the content and the scroll bars were not visible but that wasnt what saved the day. I am on day 15 so techniqually am too late to cancel the first month however in SECTION SIX OF THE TERMS AND CONDITIONS it says the returns number is valid for 21 days from the day I place the order which gives me 5 more days to get the products back to them. Unfortunately as I was getting the returns number I got disconnected and called back. The second guy I spoke to started saying the same old thing but as soon as I QUOTE SECTION 6 of the T&C he gave me the address and and the returns number. Hope this works for some of you guys who got trapped like me.

If they say the terms and conditions have since changed – which I am sure they will say you accepted the T&C as they were on the date of purchase I will try to copy and paste that now

“All return items are subject to a £7.95 restocking fee. You are obligated to pay return shipping. You will be given a Return Merchandise Authorization #. This RMA is valid for 21 days from your initial order date and must be written on the outside of the package containing the returned product. To avoid further charges, you must return and we must receive the returned product within 21 days of placing your first order. i.e., before the RMA # expires. Please note if we DO NOT receive the product within 21 days or your initial order date, you will be charged the full amount of product.”

  32. I was duped after completing an online survey about health and as a thankyou was given some prizes to choose from. The best prizes had already gone surprise, surprise, but there was an one limited for Ketone advance. The prize could be claimed by paying only £2.99 and was also given a promotional number to claim further discount on postage. The page had a clock counting down the minutes remaining left for me to claim the offer. I had been reading, what I know now were false claims and had wanted to try the product, so thought for £2.49, the ammended cost I had nothing to lose. i promptly received by product within a couple of days, but placed them in a drawer where they remain. When i got a second supply with no invoice enclosed, I thought it was a promotional package and that too went in a drawer. I recieved another yesterday and decided to look further into the poduct and off course found all the complaints. i checked my bank balance and found that the reward I was promised not only cost me the £2.49, but also £94.97, the two subsequent supplies have also cost me two amounts of £94.97. I called 08448588072 (Usa) and spoke to Robin Walls, a rude man who kept telling me to call back in 24 hours when their systems were operating correctly. I told him he could still answer my questions about fraudulent activity and he refused to put me through to anyone, but promptly put the phone down on me. I have tried now to cancel my order and guess what, my page is forwarded to another online survey telling me that I can once again take advantage of this fantastic offer to buy ketone advanced for only the cost of postage. I have reported this to FB as the advertisments for this product is still being endorsed by them. I cannot afford to this money and doubt I will get it back, but I do want to bring awareness to stop this evil scam.

  33. I have received today keystone advanced and expecting the other product tomorrow. Having read that this is a scam with regard to taking money from my account without my authorisation I have decided to cancel. I called 800 014 9645 I was given 2 ram no’s told to send products back. I am to send back recorded delivery and call them back with a bar code number from the parcel and they would cancel my account. Seems very easy, but I will still go to my bank and put a stop on anything from this company. From those who have had money taken out what reference/ co name appears on the bank statement? I would appreciate any info anyone can provide. Thank you and good luck with refunds….

  34. On Friday 4th July, I realized that the diet green and ketone adavanced pills was a scam just after completed the online form and gave the company my card details. I called a 0800 148 8243 straight away and a woman said the shipping fee was nonrefundable and they would not deliver the 2 products and that i would receive an email confirming my cancellation within 24hrs which I did not receive. I called my bank and cancelled the card. Yesterday,to my surprise the 2 products were still delivered to my home address and I returned them signed for delivery today. I have the barcode/receipts from the post office to dispute any fictitious claims they have not received the returned products unopened.
I have phoned the 0844 858 8073 number a few times and each time the ask for my details and state the account is cancelled and not to return the products. I have received no confirmation email from them. I have emailed their support email id twice but not reply. Must be bogus!
I called my bank again and even though I have a different card number the company could still take unauthorized payments as the old card number is linked to my bank account. If the company attempt to take unauthorized automatic payments I am not liable, the bank will dispute it and will get full refund plus any charges.
Luckily they have only taken £3:95 and £4:95.If
    Hope this is helpful?

    • read the terms and conditions on the website you will not get a refund ,i have had £174.39 taken out of my bank the only way to stop this is open a new account.
sorry its not more promising news.

    • Sonia I believe the banks are in on this Ketone scandal. If you have a new card and have cancelled the old card, NOBODY can successfully use that card to take money from your account and if your bank allows it, they are committing fraud. You should complain to your bank if you have received that information and also to the banking ombudsman.

  36. There is no way to get out of this scam
they had a pending amount for £174.39 on my account after just a week
once the payment is pending the bank cannot cancel it or your account
The only way to cancel this is to open a new account with your bank and transfer all of your funds and set up new direct debits etc ,you will not be able to take the pending amount out as this money will be lost, once it is taken by the scammers you can close the account ,I have read reports where when you block them from your account they just set up a new direct debit in a different company name,I have reported this to the fraud department and direct debit dispute team, but they have guidelines to follow, saying send the items back to cancel the contract, but if you cannot get in contact with the company there is no way of sending them back,do not send recorded delivery to a post office box number as it is not a guarantee that your item has been received back,as they do not check for individual items,so is not proof of return
    Hope this helps.

  38. I have litterally just fell for this and after seeing after paying my error investigated and found these posts.

I am a bit confused though. the small print says you get these 2 bottles for free and just pay the samll postage price. Surely if you cancel within 14 days of purchase youshould receive the first bottle of each which you can use and not need to send back.

You are cancelling to stop more coming at extorsionate prices surely?

Any advice on this would be much appreciated, but I was simply planning on sending them the cancellation email (it doesn’t say in the order small print how you have to cancel) and then go to my bank with the emails etc asking them to cancel any orders from the company and if needed set me up with a new bank accont/card to stop future charges. Surely if this is done at 14 days they are breaking the law to take any money? And I am entitled to keep the FREE bottles sent to me which I only needed to pay shipping for?

    Thanks for any advice.

    • as I have said I had the original products, the ones you paid the p&p for then a week later there was pending debit card payments on my card I have had no more products just the original ones and they have taken £174.39 out of my account today
I have now opened a new account and transferred my money( its the only way to stop them)
I have called the debit card dispute team and the debit card fraud but say because I have given my details and signed a contract doing so there is nothing they can do
However they are governed by visa so you could phone them on 02077955777/or 02079378111
      email enquiries.europe@visa.com
that’s what I intend to do good luck

They have cancelled the payments and will refund me any money that gets taken.

they have sent me a email today saying my account had now been closed….
please read the terms and conditions you are agreeing to when buying these THEY ARE NOT A FREE TRIAL…

I have phoned them and after offering to send them back and them telling me that I cannot send them back , I told them that they did not work in fact they made me feel hungry when I took them and I had not lost any weight, they have offered to cancell the yearly subscription and refund £50. Feeling like a totall idiot for falling for this .

  45. I signed up for the free trial last week. Payment of £3.95 for the Ketone and £4.95 for the Nutra Cleanse was taken the next day, and I got the bottles this Monday just gone. Having since read here and on other sites about the scam, I called up the company to cancel my account. I had to argue something chronic with the agent on the phone. I refused to send anything back – why send out 30 days worth of tablets if the free trial is only for 14 days? Eventually, after demanding to speak to ‘Hector’s’ manager (I’m sure Hector wasn’t his name but anyway) he put me on hold for a couple minutes, came back to me and said I had been allowed to cancel my account without the return policy applying, and I would receive an email. I’m still waiting.

After some concerns over them taking unauthorised payments, I have just called my bank to ask them to block any payments from this company. When the nice lady from the bank saw the name ‘Ketone advanced’ her response was “oh yes, I know them well”. Says it all.

  46. Do not sign up for any of these so called free samples! It’s a complete con. The company running this business is profitable because they are ‘stealing’ customers money ! If you ask for a ‘ free ‘ sample tk be sent out you get it ok but then , even if you cancel they still send you the next batch anyway! You then have to contact them again and tell them you are cancelling! I sent my first batch back at the start of July and I’m still waiting for the refund! Contacted them today only to be told that I was not entitled to a refund !!?? I should have calked to tell them I was sending the products back!
They now say they will refund 70% back into my account! Seems to me like they get quite a massive percentage rate on their investments ; 30% and they get to sell the product over to some other gormless idiot!!
My faith in buying anything online has been greatly affected and something should be done!
By the way I was also charged £97 and £74 back in May , I don’t know what for and that us not being refunded.

  47. My bank (Lloyds) was no help at all, quoting Ts and Cs which did not appear on the Facebook-redirected website I ordered from. There was NOTHING about it being a trial and the £4.95 being P&P only. In fact since ordered the product the price had changed to £6.95 and was called something slightly different. Despite the bank refusing to process a chargeback (therefore believing the company over me, their long term customer) they did give me £50 customer credit and £5 to cover my calls – so I was more than covered because, when Ketone tried to take more money, I only had £23.74 left in the bank – haha! Since then I have phoned Ketone on 0844 858 8072 and threatened legal action as I have insurance. They asked me to return the product to PO Box 7574 Milton Keynes MK11 9JQ quoting a long number on the front of the envelope. The e-mail containing this number never arrived so I left it a fortnight and chased them by phone. They then gave me the number. I returned the product on 4 August 2014 which cost me around £6. I tracked and traced it and it was delivered on 6 August and signed for by a C MINNS with the printed name WORLD FULFILMENT (!). I have just chased my refund on the same telephone no and have been told by Caroline it has now been processed. So I await seeing that in 3 – 5 working days – but not holding my breath. Luckily my bank has covered my losses but I am still determined to make these scamsters pay me back!

  48. One last bit of advice – the obvious thing to do to avoid money being taken on a recurring debit card instruction is to CANCEL your debit card. It caused me a bit of hassle but the bank sent a new one out within days and I probably didn’t shop as much as I would have for the days I was missing a debit card. So please ring your bank and CANCEL the card for this (or any other) scams – as long as you haven’t signed up to a direct debit they will be unable to debit you further. If you have signed up to a direct debit, although the company can still attempt it, if you check your account via internet or phone banking every day, your bank is OBLIGED to return that direct debit back to your account if you ask on the same business day before 3.30 pm 🙂

  49. SUCCESS!! I posted yesterday to say I had chased with my Royal Mail tracking number and was told my refund had now been processed – just checked my bank and there it is, £23.74! This is minus the £6.50ish it cost to send the tablets back, but I also received £55 from my bank Lloyds who were not prepared to process the chargeback but gave me customer credit for poor advice from their staff. It pays to keep nagging -keep a note of all the calls you make, recorded delivery nos etc. The fact I had taken several tablets makes no difference – the pot was opened but they still refunded – obviously starting to bow to people pressure ! 🙂

  50. My husband spotted the article in the Daily Telegraph so I sent for the free one months trial. Imagine my surprise when almost £175 was taken out of my bank. This sum put my account into the red.
I e-mailed and cancelled straight away. As yet have not received the additional months supply.
Sadly I have also not lost any weight nor noticed any benefits claimed by the company.
After reading all your comments I will also contact my bank and ensure no further payments are taken.

  51. I have just found out today that our joint bank account has been debited £94.97 by Keytone. My wife did sign up for the 14 day free trial but, like everyone else, did not read to T & C! I have phoned Ketone and they are only offering to refund £50 odd, not the full amount.

I have spoken to our bank First Direct. They are unable to assist in obtaining any refund but can assist if Ketone make any more attempts to extract money from our account.

I was alarmed to be informed by our bank that our account has also been debited with £79.97 for ‘Active Green Coffee’. The Bank advise that this is almost certainly the same firm as Ketone. I would urge everyone who has fallen for the Ketone ‘special offer’ to carefully check their bank accounts for at least 3 months prior to the £94.97 debit to see if any other amounts have been debited without their knowledge. if i can miss it despite getting daily texts from the bank, so can you!

It might be worth investigating as to whether you could claim under the County Court Small Claims procedure. However, you have to pay a fee to put in a Small Claim and, almost certainly, Ketone would then hide behind their T&C in defence so it would be a case of throwing away good money after bad!

  52. I have now phoned Ketone again and managed to get them (I hope!) to make a full refund of the £174.94 they have taken from our bank account.

They initially offered 70% quoting their T&Cs. I would not accept that and demanded to speak to a senior manager saying I was a very dissatisfied customer and that if they could refund 70%, they could also refund 100% if they chose to do so. That SEEMS to have worked and I’m now holding my breath to see if the refund comes through in the next few days

  53. I am another Keytone victim. Promised free trial and cancelled this trial on the day as per the T&C. I then found out @ £160 taken from my account on same day. Rang them up and they stated I phoned a day late! When I asked to provide evidence of this they said ” it is on their screen and did not need to send any proof via e mail “. I will be contacting Trading Standards. If only I had seen this site prior to signing up to this company. A lesson learned.

Surely their must be something that we can do to stop this happening to anyone in the future. I’m only 18 and it has taken me about 2 months to earn the money that they just too out in seconds. I just wish I would’ve looked it up before hand but I won’t stop until something is done about them. No chance they are gonna do this to anyone else. I won’t stop until they are shut down.

  55. I too have fallen for this scam and am kicking myself stupid as I am always so careful online. The website seemed so genuine. I don’t recall agreeing to any terms and conditions prior to giving my credit card details. Although I received a confirmation of shipping email there was no phone number to call to ask further questions only an email address which I have been unsucesful in reaching. The shipping did arrive promptly but again no contact information nor terms and conditions provided nor any information on further purchase or cost of product should I wish to purchase more. This raised my suspicions but as it was advertised as a free trial I thought nothing further until I decided to look on Amazon to see if it could be bought there. On Amazon it was retailing for between £10.99-£17.99. However upon reading reviews I decided against using the product as I cannot afford to be off work and read on Amazon that it has some unfortunate side effects and disrupts the digestion system.I therefore did not open the bottles and the product remains unopened. I have since been charged £79.95 (to my credit card) for the product, which has put me over my balance. As soon as I saw the transaction on my account I contacted my credit card company who I hope will help me avoid further payments/transactions and hopefully get me a full refund as I want nothing more to do with this scam product nor the company who are behind it.
