With obesity levels on the rise there are more women becoming infertile.
A study has shown that around 34% of young women, with an average age of 23 struggle to become pregnant due to obesity.
This is not the only issue either as obesity can also affect your menstrual cycle and increase the risk to your child both during and after pregnancy.

When fat is deposited in a woman’s abdomen it causes an increase in male hormone production. It is these hormones increase the risk of anovulation (a menstrual cycle whereby the ovaries do not produce an egg).

Rather than looking for quick fixes to your weight issues you should instead look at making wholesale changes to your lifestyle choices.
These kind of choices will include:
- Eating healthier and reducing your intake of fatty junk food
- Increasing your activity levels
A healthy diet should consist of plenty of fresh fruits and vegetables. While your protein intake should also be increased.
Lean protein sources such as chicken and turkey are essential for any weight loss attempt as it is slow to digest, so will help to keep you fuller for longer. In addition it will keep your energy levels high, which you will need once you start exercising regularly.
Increasing the amount of water you consume on a daily basis is also a good idea. Often your body will mistake thirst for hunger so drinking more often will alleviate this issue.
As for your activity levels you don’t need to get an expensive gym membership in order to workout, although some people will prefer this method.
As long as you are not sitting on your bum then you will be burning off those excess calories.
There are plenty of exercise you can do in your own home. Just 30 minutes 3-4 times a week will make a huge difference to your weight.
Even going for a walk with family of friends every night will be better than doing nothing.
Just remember to start slow as overdoing it could lead to injury, which will mean you will be unable to workout while you heal.
