Diet hack #1: Delete those calorie-counting apps

I would recommend that instead of obsessively counting calories that you look at eating the right foods. These healthy foods are often low in calories anyway.

When you become obsessed with calories your diet will become too strict and boring, which will make it almost impossible to stick to long-term.

Diet hack #2: Don’t exercise so much

How much do you exercise? If it is more than 6 days a week then chances are you are doing too much, especially if each workout is performed at maximum intensity.

Before long you will find that your body will become overtrained, which is when it is fatigued to a point where you wont be able to do any exercise.

Your body will also produce excess levels of the stress hormone cortisol, which will cause food cravings and fat storage.

Exercise is important for weight loss and good health, but so is rest. Make sure you get a day off at least every week.

Diet hack #3: Have more sex

There are a few reasons why sex can help with weight loss.

First off you will be burning calories while you do it, plus you will release oxytocin during sex too.

Oxytocin is known as the love hormone and when released it can help cut the amount of food you want to eat.

Diet hack #4: Knock off those distractions when eating

If you eat while distracted you are not taking full notice of what you are eating, which could lead you to eat many more calories than you should.

To ensure you concentrate on the food in front of you (mindful eating) I would suggest knocking off all distractions. For example, knock off the TV, smartphone and laptop.

Diet hack #5: Laugh

Laughter can also help fight against stress, which will reduce the amount of cortisol produced. This can lead to fewer food cravings and less fat stored.

Despite many medicines coming with warnings of potential side effects very few of us will read them.

Yet, many of these medicines could be causing weight gain.

Antihistamines are a good example, as they can affect both your appetite and metabolism.

Check the medication you take regularly. You maybe in for a shock at what effects it can have on you.
