With the New Year fast approaching it maybe time to start thinking about your New Year resolution.
Are you going to be making the decision to lose a little weight this coming year, and if so are you going to achieve your goal?
Unfortunately past years have not been as successful as you might have hoped.
Luckily for you there are a few diet tricks that you can use to help ensure you experience the weight loss success you crave. Read on to discover what else you can do besides diet and exercise.
#1: Don’t go it alone
Some of us need a little extra help when it comes to weight loss, which is why it is sometimes best to find a friend or family member who is able to go through the journey with you.
You can both workout together, which helps with a little friendly competition. Plus you will be able to motivate and push each to workout that little bit harder.
You can also offer each other support when needed too, which will help to ensure you do not quit at the first sign of trouble.
#2: Change your exercise routine
If you go to the gym but perform the same routine time after time then you are probably not seeing the results that you should.
When you perform the same workout your body and its muscles will adapt and you will plateau so will stop seeing any changes to your body.
For better long-term results you should occasionally change your workout routine, which will keep your muscles guessing what is coming next.
If you have a gym membership then there may be an option to sign up for numerous gym classes.
Take a look the next time you visit and see if there is anything that takes your fancy.
#3: Use technology
Technology has become such an integral part of our modern lives that it makes sense that we use this technology to aid us in our quest to become slimmer and healthier.
Our phones or should I say smartphones are a great way to help with your weight loss efforts as there are numerous apps available designed specifically for this purpose.
From calories trackers to apps that offer various home workouts you cannot fail to find something that wont aid your efforts.
#4: Make other lifestyle changes
Another New Year resolution that many people will make each year would be to quit smoking.
If you smoke then now is the perfect time to quit. Not only due to the much-publicised health benefits but also for the weight loss benefits too.
Quitting smoking will improve your overall fitness, which will enable you to workout that much harder at the gym without getting out of breath.
Plus, the health of your skin, teeth and hair will also improve, which will lead to a boost in your confidence. Therefore helping to encourage your weight loss efforts too.
#5: Reward yourself
When I say reward yourself I do not mean through food, but if you have lost weight recently then an activity or day out could be the perfect incentive to keep pushing harder to reach your next goal.
