Dieting can be extremely difficult to stick to as we often will become tempted by those unhealthy foods that surround every aspect of our lives.
In a recent Dr Oz Show episode, Dr Mehmet Oz has revealed some emergency diet fixes that can help you get your diet back on track after a little cheating.
Here are some of the suggestions:
#1 Tomato juice with a tablespoon of horseradish
This combination causes a process called thermogenesis to occur within the body, which is a process whereby your internal body temperature will increase.
Thermogenesis is good for weight loss as the process of raising your internal body temperature will also cause an increase in your metabolic rate, which as we all know will help to burn extra calories.
#2 Eat watermelon, kiwi or celery
Each of these 3 foods are natural diuretics that can gently help remove stored water weight.
They can also help to flush away stored fat.
#3 Eat seaweed flakes
Seaweed flakes can stop the absorption of fat within your body and as is it is full of soluble fibre can also help to keep your blood sugar levels constant.
Eating foods full of sugar will cause your blood sugar levels to spike, which unfortunately will drop just as fast leading to an increased need to snack.
Keeping your blood sugar levels constant will help to reduce the need to snack as often.
These flakes are also a nutritious snack too as they contain high levels of iodine, selenium, calcium and iron.
#4 Consume Matcha Green Tea
One of the suggestions given by Dr Oz was to take a Matcha Green Tea supplement as it is claimed to be a fat burner with the ability to fight cancer.
It is full of antioxidants and the catechin EGCG, which can help repair the damage made by any free radicals found in your body.
It also contains the amino acid L-theanine that can help to relieve stress, which can also aid your weight loss efforts as stress can lead to increased levels of the hormone cortisol being produced.
Cortisol has been shown to increase the need to snack.

How to effectively lose weight?
Although these emergency diet fixes are a great way to get your diet back on track the best course of action is to not fall off track in the first place.
It may be easier said than done but eating healthily and getting regular exercise is still the best method of not only losing any excess weight, but also keeping it off long term.
