Emmerdale Actress Kerry Wyatt who play Laura Norton on the hit ITV soap has recently revealed how she has managed to lose 3 stone since starting the show.
How did she lose the weight?
Kerry revealed that the secret to her weight loss success was cutting coke from her diet:
“I stopped drinking coke. I was completely addicted to it. I was waking up in the middle of the night, craving coke.”
“Once I stopped, I lost a stone very quickly.”
She also revealed that since she moved out of Leeds, she was eating out less, and also had a little help from a personal trainer.
“I have lost 3 stone since I started the show and it’s all down to having a healthier lifestyle.”
How cutting out coke could help with weight loss?
Soft drinks like Coca Cola are full of sugars and other additives, this makes them high in calories, which as we know are not going to be good for your waistline. Especially if their consumption becomes an addiction.
Sugar is extremely addictive, so it is little wonder that it can be hard just to have a single glass.
Even the diet versions of these soft drinks have been shown to cause weight gain. This is because while they do not contain the calories, the artificial sweeteners make you feel as though you have consumed something sweet.
Unfortunately as your body does not receive any energy due to the lack of calories it will then crave foods that will give it the energy it craves.
What should you be drinking instead?
It may be boring, but the best thing for you to be drinking it plain tap water.
The reasons are as follows:
- It contains zero calories
- It can help to curb your appetite
- It can reduce the amount you eat during meals if consumed pre-meal
- It can flush toxins from your body
To make your water that little bit more interesting I would suggest adding a slice of lemon or lime, or perhaps another citrus fruit to it.
