Garcinia Cambogia XT or GCXT is a weight loss supplement made from Garcinia Cambogia, which has seen a lot of exposure over the past year following its appearance on the Dr Oz Show.

Unfortunately there is a growing number of people complaining about their purchase, as like so many other products currently available GCXT on a trial.

Let us look at GCXT in more detail to see if these complaints are warranted.

Claims made by GCXT?

The following claims have been made on the GCXT website:

  • Burn off unwanted fat
  • Stop future fat production
  • Boost your metabolism
  • Suppress your appetite
  • Stop emotional eating

This all sounds promising and if true would go a long way to disproving all of those who claims that GCXT is a scam.

Ingredients of GCXT

GCXT ingredientsEach serving of GCXT contains 1000 mg of Garcinia Cambogia extract so when used alongside a healthy diet and regular exercise the above claims would certainly be achievable.

With this in mind, why are there so many complaints about this product?

Cost of GCXT

GCXT like so many weight loss supplements make their money by getting people to sign up for their trial by paying for just the postage.

Unfortunately once signed up you have also agreed to pay the full price for the supplement once the 14 day trail period concludes.

In this case the cost of GCXT is $78.94, which is handily hidden away in the terms and conditions.

This is too much to be paying for a Garcinia Cambogia supplement, even one that is likely to be effective.

Is GCXT a scam?

These sales tactics are not new and are certainly not illegal. They have covered themselves in their terms and conditions, which they know that most of us never read.

People who sign up for the GCXT trial are likely to be unhappy once they find out the true cost of the trial, unfortunately there is very little that can be done.

  1. I received a bottle of CleansePlus today in the mail…I did not want another bottle of this product
    when I ordered the initial bottle I had no ideaI was committing to automatic shipments and billing to my card…I DO NOT WANT this product…I want to return it for a credit to my card…this product does not work…I called in and was told I could return the product but would not receive a credit…what kin of business do you operate??? I cannot return a product that I just received today…have not opened it and do not want it?

    • Same thing happened to my girlfriend. We even talked to a manager looked at there refund policy which said full refund is available, but then they said no its only for those that have automatic payments and I said then how did you take her money if she isn’t on it then they said the free trial cost her $200! This is a BS product and everyone needs to know its a scam and there in it to steal your money.

      • This product is a total 100% SCAM as I was suckered myself into buying this crappy product and had my bank charge it back to the friggin thieves but in the end they lied and got by with it saying I did not return the product in time and the lieing basturds to put it mildly got by with it, DO NOT BUY INTO THEIR SCAM as it does not work and I did return it in time and was out my hard earned money and did not recieve the crappy product back so BEWARE they are all a bunch of scum bags and the product is CRAP!!!!!!! IT DOES NOT WORK!!!!

    • This product is a SCAM, if they have to operate their company without telling you your credit card will be charged and how much, it is fraudulent. Do not give your credit card number to this company ever. I was charged around $150.00 to my credit card 14 days after receiving the product. When I complained they credited my card 35% and cancelled but I was left to pay $100.00 for a product I can not use because it made me sick as it reacted to my Dr. prescribed medication. If I had wanted to continue they said they could give me a 50% discount on all future orders, take that info all you users who still buy this product. Please take this ALERT seriously!

      $101.59 …. For what I bottle over my free bottle with ” you just pay postage ” ? No where did I understand it to ship me more when all I signed up for was 1 trial bottle…

  2. I called in after seeing the charge to my credit card….I thought the first 30 day trial was free by just paying the postage.. Even if I Wsent what was left, they wouldn’t have taken it back. It didn’t help at all…..what a gimick

  3. I got the free trail through a survey sight and just last night $68.43 ( optimal CL 59.52-V) and $90.76 (ISG*GTDI 78.94-V) was deducted from my credit card. I need my money back please, this is so illegal I wasn’t informed before they did. I need help please. I’m just a student struggling to make ends meet. Thanks.

When I ordered the bottle I had no idea that I was committing to automatic order and billing to my credit card.I called them to cancel and they told me that I should have cancelled the minute that I saw that they charged me for the shipmentI thought the first 30 day trial was free by just paying the postage.. Even if I wanted to return it for a credit to my card and they told me that they don’t have the right to give me a credit so I asked them PLEASE CANCEL THE NEXT ORDER I DO NOT WANT THAT PRODUCT THEY ARE A BUNCH OF THIEFS.What kind of business do they operate,not being able to recredit there clients.I cannot return a product that I just received have not opened it and do not want it?

  5. DO NOT TRY THIS PRODUCT this company is out to get your money and will do everything to get you to not cancel and leave out as many details as possible even when you ask. Then when your ready to cancel because they left out information they tell you to go and reread the fine print.I called to cancel my free trial as soon as I received the box and was told they would extend my free trial for longer and I constantly said I don’t want to be billed for this and they told me to call before a certain date and I wouldn’t be billed. So I called before the extension was up and she was trying to charge me for the bottle even though I came to an agreement that if I did the extension I would not be charged if I cancelled on time.when I cancelled the representative had a bad attitude towards me.

      • I canceled any further purchases through them after I received the trial purchase and it was the day I received it. I have the email I sent them as proof of my cancelation of any and all purchases as of the date I received it. My credit card showed they did indeed charge my card for two bottles. After my cancelation I received a package from them, another bottle, that’s when I realized they didn’t cancel my card. I immediately called them and got an answering machine which allowed you to cancel, which I did again!!!! I am seeking justice for this fraud of a company. Do not purchase any products on a trial basis….all set up just like this. LET’S PUT THEM OUT OF BUSINESS…ALL OF THEM.

    • keep all of your receipts and print off the initial offer. dispute with your credit card. get everything in writing. you have the right to cancel anytime, however you need to be diligent with their cancel timeframes. if you have the proof of their rules and when you cancelled (get a confirmation #) just contact your credit card company and dispute the charge. These trials always, always have the automatic renewals. Just be smart and out smart the company.

  9. Purchased a free trial as there was absolutely no fine print stating they would continue to charge $. There was fine print on the cleansing product which I did not purchase. I received an email with an invalid phone number. I replied to the email requesting cancellation but the email defaulted back. My credit card company was well aware of the scam and provided me with the cancellation number. On the email they state they are only available M-F however this number is 24/7. Prepare yourself. They will offer you 75% and the representative was extremely rude. Make sure you request a cancellation email as well. The number is 1(888)497-3588.

  10. I recieved the garcinia xt today, and decided it is just not for me and I was looking into it as well. It does seem fishy. My bad for not doing to proper research first! I called to cancel shipments and return the unopened product, and although the girl was very persistant taking to product cost down to like $16….I said no…I have a potassium allergy and cant take it. (Not true, but I couldnt get her to stop). She said well do you have any friends to give it to….etc etc. I said no. Where do I return. She did give me an address and return confirmation# and said she has cancelled my subscription & gave me a number. I wrote everything down and will watch my account like a hawk now. But she was very nice, never got rude, so I am hoping I wont have any problems.

  11. i was told i needed to loose 15lbs so i started looking at some diet pills online. I came across this and started filling out the information then i read about the automatic charges so i dug deeper amd ended up here. I will stick to my Walmart pills for 10 bucks they work just fine

    After reading these comments i just called the GCXT and asked them to cancel my order. Its been less then 14 days old. I had to convince the customer service executive to cancel my order and she told me that she can cancel the order only after deducting 18 dollars from my account as a cancellation fee. So there was no way out rather then letting her deduct the amount. Bottom line is that it may be a good product but the way its being marketed as free trial is totally unethical. I would choose some thing else available on amazon.

They said I would just have to return the package and pay shipping cost. Thats unfortunately that I will have to pay shipping cost but its better than being billed $200 monthly. I would be pissed.

  15. Just read this as I was doing research on the best way to take my products. Oh Great. Now I’ve been ripped off. Just in time for paying the Christmas bills too. I was charged for the extra bottles on Dec. 22/14, and only just got the trials in the mail. What a load of crap. I will be attempting to get a refund as I don’t want to continue with a product that rips you off right form the get go. Doesn’t say much about the product either if they have to coerce people into buying it.

  18. hi there thank you for all of this. Just received this in the mail today and read all of these comments so I called and cancelled. They never asked me to return anything and said I will not get charged anything because I was in my 14 day trial. Has anybody still got charged when they were in there trial period?

    • Yes This is my second charge after paying shipping for trial bottles and I have never received any more. I called month ago and was told I would have to pay the bill because I didn’t call before the 14 says. Thought this was a trial and then if it worked I could order but my doctor said I can’t take it because of all the prescription medicine I already take. Was told when I called evetuthing was cancelled but charged again on today’s bill and only have received trial bottles. I am a pensioner and don’t need these charges.

  23. I signed up for the fee trial and I did read about the automatic shipments unless I cancelled before the trial period ended, which I did. However the products worked well for me I lost 24 pounds while using it.

  24. This company should be burnt to the ground with all its product inside. They rip people off everyday and clearly enjoy doing it. I love how “clearly” everything is stated in their terms and conditions, the fine print and pages and pages, I was screwed out of my money, and will never again purchase their crap product and will be making sure everyone around me knows what a fraudulent and sneaky business they run. It’s sad people in the world enjoy scamming people everyday.

  26. So I got scammed too. I paid for the shipping of the free trial called to cancel and I have to pay to send it back. So that’s how they make money. I basically paid $$$ to have a product shipped to me and back to them and got nothing in return. I just stopped them from taking more money out of my account. this shouldn’t be legal!!! Same thing with the WEN Hair products!!! UGH

  27. As above…a ripoff. I got scammed by visiting a reputable website and making a legitimate purchase. At the end of the transaction I was asked to complete a short survey and for doing so I would receive a free product, all I had to do was pay the shipping. Once I had done that I apparently was signed up and had the $78.95 withdrawn from my account twice. I wasn’t bilked until after the fourteen days were passed so they are saying I can’t return the product.

    They get you to sign up with a “free trial”. Give you 18 days to decide to continue. I didn’t get the product for 10 days after signup. Only had 4 days to decide. Called soon after and they said basically tough shit! You don’t get 18 days after receiving product to try it out. You have 18 days after ordering. (They take 10 days to deliver). Big-time Scam artists! DO NOT BUY! RIP-OFF!
    Will fight it with my credit card company!
