If you like so many of us across the globe are trying desperately hard to lose that excess fat from your body you might have tried various techniques only to find that you are unable to get rid of the fat.
Perhaps the following tips will finally help you achieve your goal, without having to use any gimmicky fad diets:
#1 – Use fat to burn fat
Did you know that there was more than one type of fat found within your body?
Well there is, one type is called white fat, which is the bad kind that you are trying to lose, and brown fat that can help to burn off the white fat.
The brown fat contain mitochondria that when activated through exercise causes heat to be generated, which in turn helps burn fat.
As little as 2 ounces of brown fat can burn as much as 20% of your bodies calories.
#2 – Take some Vitamin D supplements
According to a study undertaken at the University of Minnesota those who start a weight loss program with higher levels of Vitamin D lost more weight than those who did not have enough present in their system.
It is suggested that Vitamin D causes your body to produce more of the hormone leptin, which aids weight loss by sending signals to your brain that you are full.
#3 – Get in the right frame of mind to lose fat
We have all done it from time to time, when you are out with friends and they have ordered a calorie rich dessert that you know you shouldn’t eat but due to their insistence you give in to temptation.
Women are more likely to let others persuade them, but this is not to say that men are not completely innocent either.
If you want to achieve your goals you need to stay strong and stick to those healthier choices. Remember you are losing the fat for yourself not for anyone else.
#4 – Stop rewarding yourself with food
Even though you have been good and have eaten healthily and gone to the gym does not mean you can ruin all your good work by rewarding yourself with junk food.
Of course the occasional snack wont do any real harm, but daily ‘rewards’ are surely going to affect your progress.
#5 – Chew thoroughly
As many of us chew quickly we are not realising how much food we are really eating.
By taking our time to chew our food thoroughly we will be slowing down the rate that we eat our food, giving our brain chance to realise that you are getting full.
Also chewing thoroughly helps your body to break down food that much easier, ensuring more nutrients are released into your body.
#6 – Cut out the sweet stuff
This may sound obvious, but the more sweet foods you eat (cakes etc) the more you are going to crave them.
If you can cut out the sweet treats completely, instead stick to those healthy alternatives. Also, try to eat more often to keep your energy levels up so that you are less likely to want to reach for those unhealthy snacks.
#7 – Workout outside
For some reason when we exercise outside we push ourselves that much harder without feeling the exertion.
If you are lucky enough to live somewhere in the country then taking a walk or going for a ride on your bike is a great way to exercise.
Even those in the city will have a park nearby where you can get a little exercise in the outdoors.
Anything is better than being stuck in the gym for every workout.
#8 – Move around at work
If you have a sedentary job then you are more at risk of becoming overweight than those who are on their feet all day.
Even if you are busy it is important to get up for a little walk every hour. You could even stand at your desk while on the phone as this simple act will also help you to burn calories.
#9 – Drink green tea
Rather than reaching for the coffee instead drink a cup of green tea instead.
Green tea contains EGCG, which is a compound that will reduce the amount of fat your body can absorb.
#10 – Beat your genes
Even though it has been shown that 3 quarters of us have a ‘fat gene’ that means our chances of becoming overweight rises by as much as 30%, this does not mean that we have to accept our fate.
Exercise and a healthy diet will help beat your genetics. Eat plenty of fresh fruit, vegetables and lean protein sources while getting regular exercise and you will soon reach your weight loss goals.
