What is HCAMAX and is it a scam?

What is HCAMAX and is it a scam?

HCAMAX is a weight loss supplement that is available to try on a ‘limited time offer’, which is basically a trial.

Made from Garcinia Cambogia this supplement is obviously trying to cash in on the popularity gained by the appearance of Garcinia Cambogia on the popular Dr Oz Show.

Unfortunately like so many other trial offers you need to make sure you read the terms and conditions of the trial, otherwise you may find that like so many others you are going to get a shock when the full amount of the product is taken from your bank account once the trial has elapsed.

This has led to claims that HCAMAX is a scam, but is it really? Lets look at this supplement in more detail to see if you should give this trial offer a chance.

Claims made by HCAMAX

The following claims have been made on the HCAMAX website:

  • Prevents fat storage
  • Diet without hunger
  • Burn stubborn belly fat

If the correct amount of Garcinia Cambogia is found in the HCAMAX formula then these claimed benefits are certainly achievable. Before we can verify them though we would first need to look at these ingredients.

Ingredients found in HCAMAX

Although HCAMAX claims to contain 50% HCA there is no mention of dosages or whether any other filler ingredients have been used.

You may find that there are other supplements available on the market with as much as 60% HCA, which will obviously be more effective at helping you achieve your weight loss goals.

Cost of HCAMAX

While you may believe that a trial offer will cost nothing or at least very little this is not the case with HCAMAX. As while the initial cost is only $1.95 this only covers the 15 day trial period.

Unless you have read the T&Cs of the trial beforehand you will not be aware that once the trial has elapsed you will be charged $89.99.

To make matters worse you will continue to be charged every month while receiving new packages until you cancel your subscription to this auto ship program.

Is HCAMAX a scam?

HCAMAX have covered themselves legally in their terms and conditions, yet if you have signed up for this offer you may feel as though you have been scammed.

Trial offers in my opinion should be avoided, they almost always cost more than you think.

Alternative to HCAMAX

A proven alternative to HCAMAX is Garcinia Pure.

This supplement contains 1000 mg of Garcinia Cambogia with 60% HCA per capsule, meaning that if used alongside a healthy diet with regular exercise you should see some good weight loss results.

It is available for $62 for a months supply, with no need to sign up for any trial or auto ship program.

  5. It is absolutely a scam. They called before the trial period was up and asked if I wished to continue or switch to the liquid form. I told them that I wanted to cancel and that I didn’t want another thing from them. They said ok. They never told me that I needed to call customer support to cancel. They said ok, that it would be cancelled, then I received another shipment and another phone call asking if I wanted to continue. Again I explained that I had already spoken to someone and that I had already cancelled, but they had still sent another package. They apologized and said it would be taken care of. Then I received another call and another shipment. I asked them how this was still occurring when I had cancelled twice already. They said they weren’t sure and would take care of it and how sorry they were for the inconvenience. I just received another shipment and I had enough. I had to look up online to find a phone number just to call them. They explained that the phone calls I had been receiving had nothing to do with customer support and if I had wanted to cancel, I needed to talk to customer service. This was never explained to me when I tried to cancel when they had called me. They just kept saying they would take care of it. They blatantly lie to make you think you’ve taken care of the situation so they can still get your money. Customer service said they would reimburse me for the last two shipments, but anything older than 30 days they couldn’t. When I told them what had been going on they said they had no control over the phone calls customers receive and they didn’t know why someone wouldn’t tell me to call customer support to cancel. What a crock

  6. Hi, I’ve ordered a trial pack and they said it’s only $4.55 and the other was $5.60.. they’re meant to take just those 2 payments but they’ve taken more.. how do I contact them? I’m from Australia, tried their support site now it doesn’t exist..

    • Hey Jeni, I actually just called them to cancel and you can basically find the number on their website. 1-888-998-6283. I was so pissed when I checked my visa balance and they charged me 103.85 Canadian dollars. I should have done more research on this… I don’t even know if these products actually work. It was a complete waste of my money.

      • I joined for the free trial and then left on a holiday. I had no idea how long the product would take to arrive and when I returned home 2 1/2 weeks later, it was here. Apparently the 14 day trial starts the day you order, because I called the number listed above (1-888-998-6283) to cancel and ask for a refund. They are obviously trained for these calls as her answers were very definite,,”It is in the terms and conditions” “You would have to call in the 14 day period”.. She even had the gall to offer the pills to me at a 35% and then 65% discount if I wished to keep receiving them. She did cancel my membership, gave me a confirmation # and sent an email confirming same. DO NOT DO THIS!!

      • I just got off the phone with these people. I received a free bottle of HCAmax which didn’t work at all. I changed my diet and have started to exercise regularly so I thought I’d give it a shot. 15 days later I’m charged 104.12 CDN!! No refund on that amount because when you order the free trial bottle you’re charged for the WHOLE bottle at FULL price! So I called the number above and cancelled it. What a giant ass rip off! Never again and thank you for this article to share stories and information.

  8. Their disclaimer that it is a 14 day trial is so minuscule and at the very end it is ridiculous. If it is only a 14 day trial then you should not get a 30 day supply. Totally disappointed with the service and after 14 days have not seen any results. Not happy with the product or the customer service at all.

    • I called the customer service number from Australia. The call went through. I spoke with Evangeline who was very polite. As I am still in the trial period I could send back the product and just pay the shipping. Except when I agreed to that she also came up with a restocking fee which was the same as if I kept the bottles at $15.95 each. She was so kind to round that down to $31 for me saving me a whole .90 cents! And then tell me how lucky I was to be keeping over $100 worth of product for that $31. I asked for and received a cancellation number with the promise that I would not be sent any further products and nor would any money be taken from my account after the $31.
I hope this turns out to be the truth….

Contact# is not complete. I have forwarded company site and details onto scamwatch.gov and will also be reporting to ACA in Australia. Very disappointed I trusted myself purchasing from such a dodgy website. My advice is to transfer your deposits into a different account until further information is given on how to remove details

    • I kept waiting for the product to arrive. I’m in Australia so figured it would take awhile to get here but was getting a bit worried and decided to have another look at my reply email. Getting to the very bottom I found it was a 15 day not 30 day trial and time begins from order date! I then read on to realise I’d be charged the full amount for each product in 2 days and I had not even received it yet! I emailed them that I wasn’t happy and wanted to cancel. I reported it to my bank when I also realised they had taken 2 other amounts out of 23.85. I had to cancel my credit card. I feel so cheated and a bit stupid but coming from a womens health mag and reading reviews I was confident I was doing the right thing. Bloody scammers! I hope everyone cancels

  17. I’m from Australia and recently ordered a trial in the last few days, but after reading all of this I just rang them to cancel the order. They were very helpful and told me to keep the trial for the price of $19.00 instead of paying postage back. She then cancelled my order of products giving me a cancellation confirmation number over the phone. I have also received an email from them showing my cancellation for no further charges to be taken out of my account. Hopefully all is as good as it seems. The number I rang was 0011 18006045067.

  18. Today I was made aware that my account had overdrafts after they took $176 out of my bank account when the only permission I gave them & the only charges I was made aware of was $4.95 for shipping. When I called for a refund I was told they couldn’t reverse any charges & told me these charges were made clear (WHICH COULDNT BE FURTHER FROM TE TRUTH!) but they could cancel my account. When I tried calling back to speak with someone else I was told they couldn’t refund me because I had canceled & they couldn’t access my account. Such a scam. Hope this review saves someone for falling for this Sam trick. & hopefully my bank will make things right. & HOPEFULLY THESE PEOPLE GET WHATS COMING!

  19. Hi, I’m from Australia as well and after reading these reviews, I rang straight away and had my subscription cancelled. I have email confirmation as well as over the phone reference numbers! After 14 days of your free trial they do charge the full amount. Given that it took almost 2 weeks for the package to arrive it’s not much of a free trial! I am doing a “return to sender” as I didn’t open anything after reading all your helpful reviews- thank you so much everyone. Oh and they also tried to offer me a 50% lifetime discount!!! No thanks 🙂

  20. I also ordered from Facebook and saw no terms and conditions. I have contacted my bank and cancelled my card. I only ever received one supply of the product but somehow they kept taking my money and nothing else has arrived in the mail. Another company called Boost were also taking my money, the same amount as this mob. Not happy. I have emailed this mob and cancelled everything.

  21. Hi Guys
All of the above is the standard response for most of this companies method of operation, the call centres are trained to handle frustrated & upset “clients” but will disconnect, provoke &/or antagonise the client. So call the number jump through the hoops & they will cancel any further more debits from your account.
We have all been suckered into an underhand style of contract that should have been read by us, but wasn’t, so yes we have lost some money, but be smart & don’t loose anymore.
    Best regards

  25. What a shame that I didn’t read this BEFORE buying their crap. I just spent a LONG time with a personin their call centre, trying to prevent me from returning/ cancelling their product. She wanted to know, if I could give it to someone else, and they’d reduce the price to $20, as against $90. I told her NO I just want to cancel the account, and receive NO FUTURE ORDERS. I wonder if they’ll cooperate. Another thing folks…… CONTACT YOU BANK. I did, and they are issuing me with a new card, and that way, there can be no further billing
