If you are trying to lose weight and achieve your weight loss goals you really should not be skipping breakfast.
You may think that saving those few calories would be a great way to start the day, however the truth is that by mid-morning when those hunger cravings start you will wish you had eaten something.
Even if you do not give into those cravings, no doubt by lunch time you will feel famished and likely to overeat. So any calories saved earlier would have been for nought.
What I would suggest rather than skipping your breakfast would be to fill up on a healthy breakfast made with ingredients that are full of fibre and protein.
The reason for this is that both are slow to digest and will give you the much-needed energy boost to start your day well.
Scrambled eggs and wholemeal toast is a good option, but like so many people out there that lead busy lives you may not have time to prepare this, let alone sit down to eat it.
Below are a few quick and easy healthy breakfast choices, ideal for anyone looking to drop a few excess pounds.
Quick & Easy Healthy Breakfast Choices
1: Fresh fruit
Bananas, apples and oranges are a great way to start the day. They are full of fibre, which can help fill you up.
It is best to avoid fruit juices however, as these have lost their fibre content.
This is incredibly quick to make and is full of fibre.
Instead of buying the instant kind that could be full of additional sugars try preparing ahead of time and store it in your fridge. You can then reheat when you are ready.
3: Breakfast bars
These are often full of fibre and protein, but you must take your time to read the labels before you buy as some will be full of additives that wont do your diet any good.
Coffee contains caffeine, which is a natural stimulant that can give your metabolic rate a little boost.
Just try to avoid adding unnecessary calories by filling your cup with cream and sugars.
Tips to ensure you Eat Healthy Everyday
One of the best tips I can give you if you want to eat a healthy breakfast everyday is to be prepared.
This is especially important for those of you who are busy and may not have time to prepare breakfast from scratch everyday.
Not only can you pre-prepare your breakfasts, but you can also make sure to stock your kitchen with all the healthy breakfast examples I have mentioned.
Buy plenty of fresh fruit and have it out on display ready to be picked up. And make sure to have a few high fibre breakfast bars available too.
You can also make your own if you feel like. There are plenty of recipes that you can try online if you are willing to search.
Our last tip is to make eating breakfast a habit, which is easy to do. All you have to do is make the effort to eat a healthy breakfast for a week or two and it will soon become part of your routine.
Your body will thank you for making this small change, so make the effort now and reap the rewards later.
