If you like so many of use have been searching online for a way to lose weight then you may be more confused than ever.

Well, in order to lose weight you will need to increase your activity levels.
Obviously going to the gym 2-3 times a week is a good idea, but even if you cannot afford or wish to pay for an expensive gym membership there are still plenty of things that you can do.
Rather than spending night after night in front of the TV perhaps you could go for a brisk walk with family or friends.
You could even perform numerous exercises in the comfort of your own home, or even join a local sports club.
Whatever you choose to do, it will be better than doing nothing at all.
The next aspect of your life that will need changing is your diet. Junk food and takeaways should be limited for a start.
You should then try to increase the amount of fresh fruit and vegetables you consume, as well as increasing the amount of lean protein.
Why should protein be added to your diet?
There are many reasons why protein should be added to your diet, these include:
- The fact that protein is slower to digest than carbohydrates so will stay in your system for longer. This will ensure you will experience fewer food cravings.
- A protein rich diet helps to burn more calories than normal as it causes a process known as glucogenesis to occur. This process is when your body converts protein to glucose (energy).
To increase your protein intake try to add a little to each meal, lean protein such as chicken and turkey are two of the best options.
