How to keep the weight off while on holiday?
Here are some tips to help you keep the weight off while away:
Tip #1: Be prepared
If you are planning on going to a party make sure you don’t arrive hungry as this is a sure fire way to ensure you spend the night snacking.
Try eating a nutritious snack (maybe fruit) before you go out, also make sure you drink plenty of water as this will ward of those cravings.
Tip #2: Focus on something else
Rather than focusing on food while out and about, try to focus on something else. Maybe a dance, the scenery or a good conversation will take your mind off food.
Tip #3: Watch those buffets
With buffets it is easy to overeat. To avoid this pick the smallest plate available and avoid stacking your food choices.
Fresh fruit, vegetables and lean meat or fish are the best options.
Tip #4: Limit your alcohol consumption
It may sound boring but you don’t have to drink alcohol or soft drinks all the time when away.
Water is a much better option.
Tip #5: Desserts
If you have to treat yourself to a dessert then try to stick to smaller portions as too much will surely ruin any chance of keeping the weight off while away.
Tip #6: Go for a walk
Just because you are on holiday this does not mean that you have to lounge by the pool all day.
If you can go for a small walk every day to the shops or to see a local attraction then you will be able to burn off a few of those excess calories you have consumed.
