In a recent interview with Yahoo the former Friends actress Jennifer Anniston has revealed how she manages to stay slim and in shape at the age of 45.
Like so many women though, even looking as slim as she does Jennifer is still not entirely happy as she also revealed how losing another 5 pounds would be perfect.
“I would love to drop five pounds. That is just where I have always been really comfortable at — about 110 to 113 pounds. But it is harder at this age.”
How does Jennifer Anniston keep the weight off?
In the past Jennifer had been a fan of the Zone diet, a diet that aims to keep your blood sugar stable by achieving hormonal balance.
Nowadays she keeps slim using a combination of a low carb diet with yoga and cardio exercises.
Jennifer has been practising yoga for over 20 years and find that as well as toning her body it also helps quiet her mind.
“Yoga calms my mind and tones my body.”
Along with her friend and yoga teacher, Mandy Ingber, Jennifer does yoga 3 days a week.
What else did she recommend?
As well as diet and exercise, Jennifer also revealed that she is able to stay slim by drinking plenty of water and getting enough sleep, which are both good tips for weight loss and your general health.
For a start water is much better than caffeinated drinks or alcohol, it contains zero calories yet can help reduce appetite, curb food cravings and can help to flush out those toxins that prevent weight loss.
The extra water can also help to give you clearer skin, which is always a bonus.
Getting adequate sleep is also a great tip as getting less than the recommended 8 hours can lead to the hormone cortisol being over-produced.
This hormone is known as the ‘stress hormone’ and high production levels can lead to increased food cravings.
