It should come as no surprise to learn that Oscar winner Jennifer Hudson has struggled with her weight in the past.
At one time she wore a size 18 dress, but in recent years it appears as though she has conquered her diet demons.
How has she managed to lose weight, and more importantly managed to keep the weight off?

Jennifer decided she needed to lose weight after giving birth, even becoming a spokesperson for Weight Watchers between the years 2010 and 2014.
How did Jennifer Hudson achieve her goal weight?
Instead of opting for a crash diet, she instead opted for portion control and exercise to ensure she lost the weight using sensible methods.
Speaking in 2010, shortly after becoming a spokesperson for Weight Watchers she stated:
“It’s a lifestyle change, not a diet.”
To ensure she stuck to her portion control diet she revealed a few tips when talking to Yahoo! Style in 2012:
“I don’t let the food intimidate me. If it’s too much, I just get rid of it, but I make sure to watch what I put in my body. And I make sure I know what it is.”
“I don’t like too much junk in my dressing room because I have to watch what I eat, so I put everything else out of the room.”
How much weight did Jennifer lose?
It has been reported that while on Weight Watchers Jennifer Hudson lost 80 pounds, going from a UK dress size 18 to an 8.
Did she do any exercise?
For exercise Jennifer trained with celebrity physical trainer Harley Pasternak, who is famous for his 25-minute 5 factor workout.
Speaking on the Oprah Winfrey Show, Jennifer explained that the most important aspect of her training is ensuring it is fun:
“I love basketball. Its fun, you don’t even realise you’re working out.”
“[You] just keep that metabolism going and just keep that energy up.”
“That’s that cardio – you’re getting it in and you don’t even realise it.”
This is good advice, as you will be more likely to stick to a regime if it is fun and not boring.
How can you achieve similar weight loss results?
Like Jennifer Hudson, to lose weight you need to look at both your diet and activity levels.
Are you still eating junk food? If so this is the first change you should make.
Out should go the processed foods and instead you should be eating unprocessed foods like fruits and vegetables.
These are naturally low in calories, but are full of the nutrients you need for good health.
Next, you should look at what you are drinking.
You should certainly consider cutting out those soft drinks, even the diet varieties as they have been shown to promote cravings for sugar, which will ultimately derail your weight loss efforts.
