Since giving birth to her baby North West last year reality TV star Kim Kardashian has noticeably been struggling with her post pregnancy baby weight.

Well, recently she has tweeted how she plans on finally losing the excess weight.

“Off to an intense workout. Can’t seem to shake this last 15-20 lbs of baby weight. No more excuses. My baby is 1 years old! UGH. I’m not gonna call it baby weight bc that’s an excuse. I just gained weight & that’s it. Why is it so much harder to lose after baby though?”

“Do any of u moms see their bodies just not the same? A different shape? Ughhhh my hips & b*tt are huge now! They were big to begin with! Just need to get down to my weight a few years ago. ‘Not gonna complain anymore. Starting diet TODAY! No carbs. Crazy workouts. Who’s with me?”

“I think after having a baby u get so excited u lost a lot of weight then u get comfortable & eat how you used & it creeps back up. Ok no more tweeting and procrastinating! LOL Glad some of u moms can relate. I’m reading the comments! Off to the gym. ‘Wish me luck on dieting…it’s soooo hard for me!”

Now obviously diet and exercise is going to be a good start to helping Kim Kardashian lose her baby weight, but are there any other tips that could help her reach her goals? Well, yes there are:

#1 – Burn calories by breastfeeding

As you are likely breastfeeding your baby you could use this to kick start your weight loss efforts.

Just make sure you eat a nutritional diet so that although you maybe eating less, what you are eating will be better for you.

#2 – Eat more protein

After the birth of your child you may notice that your energy levels will likely be lower. Obviously due to the late night nappy changes and feedings.

By eating a diet rich in protein you will be able to keep your energy levels high and your food cravings low, as protein is slower to digest than both carbs and fat.

#3 – Avoid those snacks

It is quite common for women to become addicted to snack food during pregnancy (you are eating for two right?), well you need to break out of this habit if you want to lose that baby weight.

A healthier habit would be to chew gum, just make sure you choose a sugar free variety.

Why is it important to lose that excess baby weight?

Studies have shown that losing that baby weight within a year of the birth is important as failing to do so raises the risk of suffering both diabetes and heart disease later in life.
