5 Lies You Tell Yourself That Prevent Weight Loss

5 Lies You Tell Yourself That Prevent Weight Loss

We are all guilty of it from time to time, where we will tell ourselves a lie just to get away with something we shouldn’t.

Well, if these lies start to mount up you may find that not only will you be unable to lose weight but may even gain weight in the process.

Lets look at some of these lies you tell yourself.

#1: A handful here and there wont matter

So you have prepared a meal plan for the week, and have weighed all the food appropriately, but have you counted those extra little bites you had while prepping?

You may not have consumed many extra calories, but they all mount up over time.

Of course you shouldn’t worry too much about these indulgences, but you should be aware of them and note them down.

Doing so will enable you to see if they are affecting your progress.

#2: Its all or nothing

When attempting to lose weight you cannot be too strict, nor too lapse with your efforts. Neither will result in the weight loss you want.

If you are too strict you will soon find the diet to be too restrictive and likely to quit. While a diet that is too lapse will not help you either.

What you need to find is a balance of the two, be strict most of the time, but allow yourself the occasional indulgence too.

#3: You can eat more because you exercised

If you allow yourself to over-indulge after a workout then you are not going to see the weight loss results you hope for.

Tips for Weight LossChances are that you are going to consume more calories with this “treat” than you have burned off in the first place.

Secondly, if you are basing the amount of calories burnt by using the monitor on the treadmill or FitBit then you may find that they are not as accurate as you had hoped.

#4: There must be a better diet available

The truth is that there are countless diets available, each with their own benefits and issues.

What will work for your friend may not work for you, so you may need to try a few diets to find which is best.

However, this does not mean you should change every week or so, you must give the diet a chance.

I would suggest giving the diet at least a month. If it is still not working, or you are not happy with it then it is time to change.

#5: If you don’t lose weight now, then you never will

It is never too late to change. That is if you really want to.

If you want to see results then set yourself small, achievable targets and reward yourself each time you achieve them.

Don’t worry about not reaching your goals, if you are willing to sacrifice and to remain committed then there is nothing to stop you from reaching them.
