For a start you need to cut out all the rubbish food, for example those takeaways and other convenient junk food has to go.

Of course have the occasional cheat meal, but more than once a week can seriously ruin any chance you have got of losing that gut.

You should instead be eating a diet full of fresh fruits and vegetables, along with a healthy amount of lean protein (chicken, turkey etc).

The protein is better for you than fat and carbohydrates as it is slower to digest so will keep you feeling fuller for longer with fewer cravings between mealtimes.

Exercise is equally as important as your diet. Without one or the other you are unlikely to succeed at your goal.

This does not mean that you need to spend every waking hour at the gym, in fact you do not even need a gym membership.

Just 20 minutes of intense exercise 3-4 times a week will ensure you see big changes to your physique.

The key work here is ‘intense’ as you are unlikely to see much change your body if you are not working up a sweat.

Many of us lead busy lifestyles, whether in work or at home with family and friends.

If you lead a busy life it is best that you prepare your healthy meals beforehand so that you are not tempted by the convenience of junk food.

Many meals can be cooked and frozen ready to be reheated.

Also keep healthy snacks around just in case you get peckish between meals. You don’t want to be reaching for the crisps or chocolate bar when you are feeling hungry so try to keep some fruit or a protein bar nearby.

It is easy to become disheartened and to feel like quitting when you do not see immediate results.

However, I guarantee that if you stick to your new healthier lifestyle you will eventually reach your goals.
