While weight loss would usually involve hard work and dedication there are certainly some ways that you can lose weight easily.
Check out these simple to follow tips.
#1: Keep those healthy snacks handy
Despite your best efforts chances are you are going to experience food cravings from time to time.
To try and reduce the number of cravings I would suggest eating a diet rich in both fibre and protein. This is because they are both filling and slow to digest.
When cravings do arise opt for a healthy snack such as fruit or a handful of nuts, which you should try to keep to hand. This will ensure you don’t reach for those unhealthy snacks like chocolate or crisps.
Remember even healthy snacks contain calories, so don’t turn this snack into another mealtime.
#2: Brush your teeth after every meal
Brushing your teeth after every meal will teach your brain that this act signals that you are full and that it shouldn’t expect any more food or nutrients.
The theory is that this tip will essentially trick your brain into postponing any hunger.
Also, have you ever tried eating after you have cleaned your teeth? It is not a nice taste is it?
#3: Eat more spicy food
By adding spicy foods to your diet, such as those made with red chilly peppers you will automatically increase your metabolic rate, which will help ensure more calories are being burnt.
This is because eating these foods will cause a process called thermogenesis to occur within your body.
Thermogenesis is when your internal body temperature increases along with your metabolic rate.
Other tips to help you achieve your weight loss goals
While the above tips will certainly help give you faster results, for real long term weight loss results nothing beats traditional diet and exercise.
First cut back on junk foods and processed foods like white bread, instead opt for fibre and protein-rich foods, as they are slow to digest so will keep you feeling fuller for longer.
Also, think about any liquid calories you consume. This means those soft drinks and alcoholic beverages.
Diet soft drinks should also be avoided too, as they have been shown to prompt cravings for sugary foods.
It is boring but water is your best option, just add some lemon or other citrus fruit to add interest.
As for exercise, whatever you can do is better than nothing, but for the best results you need to put as much effort in as possible.
Simply going through the motions when exercising wont help.
Personally I would recommend weight training alongside cardio, as you will be building muscle that will help increase your resting metabolic rate.
Doing so will ensure you are able to burn off more calories than normal, even while resting.
Our final words of advice would be to try and avoid too much stress and to get a good nights sleep.
If you suffer from stress or are not getting the recommended 7 hours of sleep each night then the hormones that affect your appetite can be affected, resulting in food cravings that will be hard to resist.
