While you certainly wont see the best results without exercise, it is possible to lose weight without exercise if you are willing to make a few changes to your life.

#2: Stop making excuses

Yes, you have overindulged this past Christmas and New Year but it is a new year now, so a new start for you.

Stop making excuses for why you can’t change your habits. If you want to see results then changes will need to be made.

#3: Hide the junk food or better still don’t buy it

If you are tempted by junk food around the home then hide it. For some this is still not enough of a deterrent so you may want to donate the junk food to your local food bank.

#4: Stop dieting

You need to stop thinking of your weight loss efforts as a diet, as this automatically says to you that it is a short term goal.

Instead think of losing weight as a lifestyle choice that will last you a life time. Remember you don’t need to be healthy 100% of the time, as long as you are good 80% of the time then you will still see good results.

#5: Avoid conflict

For those of us who suffer from comfort eating it is best that you try and avoid conflict if possible.

This can lead to your stress levels rising, which in turn causes the production of the hormone cortisol to increase. It is this hormone that cause those food cravings.

#6: Try on a pair of clothing

If you have a particular dress or pair of jeans that you want to be able to wear and look good then keep it handy.

The next time you feel like quitting or reaching for the junk food go and try it on. You will soon become motivated again.
