Is Prima Cleanse Plus a scam?

Is Prima Cleanse Plus a scam?

Colon cleansers have become incredibly popular recently with many claiming to help your own weight loss efforts by helping give you a thorough detox.

Products such as Prima Cleanse Plus that are offered as a trial may be best avoided, however as they may seem like a good offer at first glance but may be hiding a few issues.

In this review we are going to look at that particular supplement in more detail to see why it should be avoided.

Claimed benefits of Prima Cleanse Plus

Prima Cleanse Plus have made the following claims on their website:

  • Reduce the appearance of cellulite
  • Increase energy naturally
  • Clean and detoxify your body
  • Burn off excess weight
  • Boost your metabolism

While impressive sounding to verify these claims the ingredients of Prima Cleanse Plus will need to be looked at in more detail.

Ingredients found in Prima Cleanse Plus

Prima Cleanse Plus is said to contain ingredients such as Aloe Ferox, White Oak Bark, Golden Seal and Rhubarb Extract.

Unfortunately there is not one mention of the dosages of these ingredients or whether any other ingredients are present.

Without such information it is impossible to verify the legitimacy of the claims made, and I would be worried that Prima Cleanse Plus does nothing, or at the worst may cause side effects. There really is no way of knowing what effects will be experienced without knowing its ingredients in full.

How much does Prima Cleanse Plus cost?

While you may believe that Prima Cleanse Plus will cost very little as it is after-all a trial offer. This is unfortunately not true.

In fact should you sign up for this trial offer you will soon regret it.

The initial sign up cost is low at just £3.95 for shipping, this soon increases once the trial period has ended.

Like so many other trial offers available on the web you will be charged the full purchase price of £89.47 16 days you first sign up for the trial.

As signing up for the Prima Cleanse Plus trial also means you have signed up for an auto-ship program you will find that every month until cancelled you will be sent another package of the supplement along with a new bill for the privilege.

Is Prima Cleanse Plus a scam?

Prima Cleanse Plus have covered themselves legally a they have their payment terms listed in their T&Cs. However this will not stop the accusations that this product is a scam as those who sign up and are subsequently charged will unsurprisingly not be happy.

This supplement is overpriced and may not work as claimed, therefore I cannot recommend it. I suggest you look for an alternative.

  1. The people selling this product are a bunch of chancers. Yes, I signed up for the trial offer. I found out the ingredients was grapefruit. Due to me taking statins, grapefruit is a no no. Did not think too much about it. Did not waste too much money, or that’s what I thought! I was horrified to receive a months supply today (18/18/2014) and even more horrified to learn that they were costing me £190! This is robbery. The people who set this up ought to be behind bars!

    • Yes, you are correct. I placed my order and after everything had gone through, I had the usual thank you for my order and I noticed this statement in very small print.

Can’t believe I was so gullible to fall for this. I bought the super ketone first then prima cleanse, then decided to check side effects last night when stumbled upon this web page, and thank God I did!
It’s day 15 for super ketones so I was charged yesterday £80, they agreed to refund me 50%, how kind, but I’ve got within the 14 day period for super cleanse so I’m returning that recorded delivery back and won’t get charged any more.
PLEASE PKEASE PKEASE DONT BUY!!! Wish id read the small print, so annoyed with myself and can’t believe they can do it, it’s disgusting!!!

      • I’ve tried to cancel this a number of times by calling them direct (they seem to be US based) however every time they gave me a different reference number with reference to my cancelled order.. Basically everybody I spoke to tried to fob me off with excuses to the point where I lost my temper with them. I went into my bank as I was sure they would still try to take money from my account, I explained my situation and they reissued me a new card which arrived today 🙂 problem solved!! Just make sure you do this as soon as you can to avoid this fraudulent company taking your money.

  2. I have called them to cancel my subscription since it was automatic as I received my 2nd bottle. I told them that I was not totally happy with their product and there was no effect on me and it says that if not satisfied 100% full refund will be provided but they refused to return my money back as the 14 day grace period has finished!!! What about my statutory rights??? It’s all bogus!

    • I signed up for a trial at £3,95 postage. I stupidly read reviews after and was appalled at the fact people were being charged such large sums after the trial. I had emailed them after that as soon as I read the reviews and still they took my money. Almost £200 for a tiny tub I thought were my trial pack. THIS IS A SCAM. I have told them I ant my money back and they say send back the stuff. I was under the impression they were part of the trial. I will not give up.

  4. WARNING – SCAM

Do not buy Ketone Slim XT or Prima Cleanse + SCAM!!!!!

I was shocked and angry to open my credit card statement to see I had been charged £89.47 twice and £92.78 twice during October 14. I like others purchased a trial of each for £3.95 and £2.95 and failed to read the misleading terms and conditions which where hard to see at the bottom of the web page. Now my account has been charged a staggering £371.40! Unfortunately I did not realise what had happened until the following month when I received by bill and immediately tried to cancel by phone but could not get through and have not received an email response by this rip off company (how convenient). I have been charged for a second order which I have never even received. I have contacted my credit card company immediately to stop further payments and chase up a refund which looks doubtful for the initial order. These products can be purchased at any health food store for a fraction of the price these con artists are charging. There have been so many people caught out by this false advertising. Please avoid these websites at all costs.

  7. Hi,

I had the same thing, if you call your bank as soon as you’ve made the transaction you can check whether they have taken a standard payment or a recurring payment. In my case they only took the initial payment (twice!!!) and were able to cancel my debit card so that they can not take any further payments from my account.

It means I am without a debit card for 5 days but at least I only lost out £1.95×2 and £3.95×2.

If you do fall into this unfortunately scam then you can try this to avoid losing the rest of your money…

Hope this helps if you do fall for this too…

    • Ten Minues after I ordered the free samples my credit card (Tesco Bank) text me asking me to contact them immediately. I did thank goodness and they explained what this company were doing and that they were likely to take lage amounts of money from my account in the next few days. Tesco Bank offered to put a block on any further transactions from this company so they are now unable to take any more cash from my credit card. They also suggested that I try to cancel my so called trial with keytone. Try as I might it is impossible to contact their cancellation department phone calls get cut off or a recored message asks you to ring back in 30 minutes and yes guess what your cut off again. It is impossible to contact them so I have given up trying safe in the knowledge that they can’t take any more cash from my credit card. Good luck to you all your bank or credit card company will help if you contact them. IT’S JUST A MASSIVE SCAM. I am eternally gratefull to Tesco Cardit Card for being so quick to act on my behalf.

They will take some ridiculous money out of your account, EVERY MONTH, for a miserable box of capsules, and once you understand you have been scammed, it’s too late. In that case, call them every day, several times a day if you have to. Pester them. I managed to get £50 back by doing so. Their number is 02036953806 (London line). In my case, they argued that they charged me at the end of the 14-day trial period. I argued that they stole my money only 9 days after I received the product, since it took the product 5 days to arrive by the post. They call it a 14-day TRIAL period but how would they want me to try the product if I haven’t received it? On this basis, I argued that the trial period should start only when I receive their bloody capsules and therefore I was still in the trial period when they charged me a ridiculous £92… Worth a try folks.

  17. Feel so stupid! DON’T BUY WHATEVER YOU DO. I completely fell for this advertising, which was on a well-established website logo. I only realised after purchase when I researched and found that the original ‘Womens health magazine’ had issued a warning and disclaimer, saying their website logo had been copied and was being used to sell bogus products. I rang my bank immediately and cancelled my card. I tried to phone these fraudsters…got through to India (?), to get a refund on the purchase. I was told it was in the T&C’s that this was shipping costs only and could not be refunded. I cancelled my order. At least they can’t get any more money out of me. They claim these reviews are but a few amongst millions of happy customers!!! I said they were nothing but scam artists and I hope he slept well at night, knowing he was partly responsible for defrauding people and false advertising. Water off a duck’s back!

  18. What they don’t say in their terms and conditions, it that they send you a 30 day supply when you order a trial; however, after numerous emails and ending with a phone call with a man who couldn’t understand me, the trial is actually only 14 DAYS… so if you use the product for the entire 30 days, and then cancel, when you come to send the bottles back; with fewer tablets than what should have been used in the 14 day trial; they then charge you for the bottle.
I WOULD STAY CLEAR; when you try and cancel the line you ring on all of a sudden becomes difficult to understand.
I returned my bottles with the seals in tact (at my cost) to cancel the auto-membership.

I rang up to cancel the order and my account within 10 hours and have rung 6 times since, the phone numbers take you to florida cos I asked the man who answered. I have been assured that my account was cancelled but the pills came within 3 days, I rang back again for a returns number to send them back and was told that I could keep them free of charge as I had cancelled, so I asked for a confirmation e mail stating this, I am still waiting and if you email the customer services you just get told to ring the florida numbers, I rung my bank and the’ve put a block on any payments coming out so fingers crossed, but a lesson learnt , I will never order willy nilly again, and yes they are scammers it’s disgusting what the are doing.

  30. Yes, I too fell for this one. I only noticed after ordering the “free” trial that the charge for each of the bottles is approximately £90.00 (ie. 180.00 per month). You can buy the same product (if you must) from Amazon for around £12.00 per bottle (i.e. £24.00 per month). The people on the customer service line sound trans-atlantic (probably Canadian). I have probably been stung as well on the telephone call cancelling the order. Yes…I am afraid it is a scam. Another one down to experience.

  31. Unfortunately, I ordered Prima Cleanse and Ketone SlimXT free trial this morning, without reading the terms & conditions. Why? Because I am an idiot.
After reading the t&cs, I immediately emailed them to cancel each order. I also called them to cancel because I wasn’t receiving any response.
I had to call a different number for each product. My calls went through, I spoke to the customer services people, who seemed to be helpful. I asked for my orders to be cancelled. The Ketone employee told me I need to return the product once I receive it, and gave me an RMA number to add on the envelope. The Prima Cleanse employee said nothing about returning the product, but I challenged her on that. Once I receive Prima Cleanse I need to call back to get an RMA number and return the product.
They also told me I could just refuse the delivery and it would be returned to their offices. That would mean the cancellation of my order. Fat chance I do that. I will send the product back with recorded delivery to make sure it reaches them.
Be careful though. The trial is one month, but it takes a few days for the product to be delivered, then a few days to be returned and up to 2 weeks for the return to be processed. The product needs to be returned in one month from the date of the order. So, return as soon as you get it. Do not waste time.

I also went to my bank – Barclays – to tell them about the issue and cancel my card. Apparently, even if I cancel my debit card they can still take money from it because in the small print it says it will be a recurring payment!! So, they can force money out of my account even if I cancel the card. They told me, once I see the name of the company in my statement (they did charge for postage), to call the bank to put a stop to that company taking recurring payments from my account.

Well… it’s nice walking down the street feeling like a bloody idiot.

Lesson to be learned. Immediately cancel the order. Immediately send the product back once you receive it. Immediately let your bank know and block the company from taking payments from your account.

  32. I forgot to mention, that after calling the company, I received a confirmation email about the cancellation of my order – one email per each product.

  33. I wanted to give an update on my story, and I will keep you updated regarding future resolution.

I have been checking my account like a hawk the past two days to see if that company is trying to take money from my account. The names of the companies are SlenderExch. and NaturalBazaar. The amounts taken from my account are: £3.96 + £0.99 from SlenderExch. and £2.96 + £0.99 from NaturalBazaar.

I immediately called the fraud department of my bank to alert them that money had been taken from my account from these two companies. They told me because I signed up for the free trial, they cannot refund me the money. However, they did put a block to those two companies, and if they try to take money from my account in the future, the bank will refund me the money. I believe the bank sends a ‘stop’ letter to the company.

I did mention that the company operates under different names and the employee told me not to worry as they are aware of this type of companies and when they see large amounts taken from my account from those suspicious companies, they will refund me the money.

I also asked if cancelling the card will make any difference. The employee told me that this will not make any difference, as the only thing the company needs for authorising recurring payments are the first 12 digits of the card, which will remain the same even after changing the card.

The bank employee was very honest and told me that these companies will try and take money the first couple of times. After a couple of attempts they stop since it is not profitable for them to keep refunding.

I have decided to open a new bank account and close my current one, as this will solve the problem once and forever. I have already booked an appointment to open a new account for tomorrow.

I also just received an email from KetoneSlimXT and PrimaCleanse that my free trial parcels are on their way… I have the RMA for KetoneSlimXT but not for PrimaCleanse. Once I receive, I call PrimaCleanse to get the RMA and send them back via recorded post immediately.

BE CAREFUL. Those ‘free’ products take two days to be processed, then 3-5 days to be delivered. The free trial period is 14 days…. You have already lost 5-7 days waiting for the products. You have 7 days maximum to send them back. Then they take 7-14 days for the returns to be processed.
Your cancellation window is 14 days from the day of purchase. The return window gets small as well after taking into account the time they take to send the product.

  34. Agree with all the comments made, this is a scam to get £89.47 a month from you. I was told when I placed my order I could cancel it by email by a certain date. This did not work I had to email again before I got a response. I was told I needed to phone, the call took 8 mins to get all the information across. What a performance to cancel the order. I now need to post out with tracking before the order is cancelled. I wish I wasn’t taken in.
Their website have testimonials but they do not allow you to post comments!

  35. Like everyone else…I feel I made a very silly mistake being taken in by the “trial offer” and was horrified to see transactions on my CC statement of £92.78 and £89.47 which I couldn’t account for. MBNA were brilliant at identifying what had happened and said they come across this a lot. They put an immediate block to these 2 linked businesses and also connected me directly to the “SCAM” business who after some persuading have cancelled my subscription but no offer of a refund as I should have read the small print which they said is clearly printed on their website.
I’m now pounds lighter than I can afford but not in the way I had hoped!!!!
Well done this message blog to warn off others.
