Why you need to avoid the ProbioSlim trial?

You have no doubt seen the adverts for probiotics and their supposed ability to help improve digestive health, but can they help with your weight loss efforts too?

It seems that they can, with one supplement ProbioSlim looking like being a great option. What is this supplement though and is it recommended?

Benefits of ProbioSlim

The following claimed benefits are said to be experienced through the use of ProbioSlim:

  • Healthy digestion
  • Improved intestinal flora
  • Weight loss

These benefits seem realistic, however before we can verify them we will first need to look at the ingredients found in this supplement.

Ingredients of ProbioSlim

ProbioSlim contains its own probiotic called LactoSpore that is claimed to help relieve issues such as diarrhoea, constipation, gas and bloating.

It also contains prebiotics such as fig, kiwi and papaya extracts that contain a form of fibre that is indigestible by humans, meaning it can pass through your digestive system without being digested.

These prebiotics have been added to the formula to fuel the growth of the beneficial bacteria found in the probiotic.

Finally, ProbioSlim contains green tea extract that offers various weight loss benefits including the ability to burn off calories and fat.

The science behind ProbioSlim seems fine and probiotics have become popular recently due to their ability to improve digestive health.

Cost of ProbioSlim

The cost of 1 bottle of ProbioSlim is $69.99, which is slightly high compared to other supplements on the market.

There have even been claims that ProbioSlim is a scam although this probably has something to do with their ‘free’ trial offer.

By signing up to the ProbioSlim trial offer you will initially be charged $4.99 to cover the cost of postage and packaging, which for a start means that the trial isn’t free.

However, this is not the main issue as signing up also means that you give permission for ProbioSlim to charge your card $74.97 at the end of the trial period, with further monthly packages and charges to be expected.

This type of offer is called an auto ship program, which can result in hundreds of dollars being lost if you are not aware of what you have signed up for.

Is ProbioSlim recommended?

Despite ProbioSlim looking like a good quality supplement the cost is too high and its use of an auto ship program is certainly regrettable.

In my opinion you would be better off looking elsewhere for help improving your digestive health.

    • I purchased the free trial offer and did not agree to a monthly charge, however I have now been charged 2 x bottles $91 each. I have tried to email them, I have phoned the 1800 198 226 number constantly and only get a recorded message saying phone back during office hours. I have phoned at all different hours and still can’t get through to them. Anybody know how else to get in contact with them. I have had to cancel my credit card and get a new one to stop the payments.

      • I was charged $79.99 but was able to call them and cancel. I find that it is a good product, brings good results but you only need 1 a day. The reason I canceled is that I have enough for 6 months.

      • If you cannot reach them and they keep charging you, contact your banks fraud department. They should be able to help you resolve the issue if Probioslim wont answer the phone. It will mean getting a new card if you file a fraud claim.

      • I have talked to two different people about canceling my order after the free trial. Told them I can’t afford $74.98 for pills. They talk so fast and don’t listen to me. So today the package came with the pills. Got news for them, they’re going right back, and they will cancel any further shipments

        • You have to actually speak to a representative. If you return anything you need a RMA #. If sent back refused or return to sender they won’t accept it.
          No product AND no refund

  2. I bought the trial bottle (big mistake) and sure did not see the auto ship crap, which surprises me because I am usually very attuned to such matters. I took part of the trial bottle and could see no improvement over what I had been taking. Then lo and behold I see my credit card charged for 75.00 bucks. I called them and they tell me they have cancelled my “membership.” Nowhere did I read I was getting a membership. I asked them to send me a prepaid mailer and I would return it to them. They refused, giving me options such as I get a sixty percent refund and get to keep the pills, fifty per cent, yadda, yadda. I had my Discover card people challenge the charge which takes it off temporarily and will not allow future charges, but I will probably have to pay the return shipping in the end. THESE KINDS OF THINGS ARE SCAMS. I do not believe I would have signed up for the sample if it had said anywhere in words big enough to read that I was joining a club that cost 75 dollars a month membership. What can the consumer do?

    • It’s a scam….never saw I was joining a club and they automatically charge you for another shipment. These pills did nothing for me and I never told them to autoship me more. I hate when companies like that pray on unknowing customers!!

    • I had the same thing happen to me. The only time they saw anything about a membership is when you put your information for the free trial. When I received the package I didn’t receive any information with the bottle of pills. You can look every where on the site to try to look for the information to where to cancel and you will only find it if you sign up for another trial period. They hid the information. The pills didn’t help with anything and I work out 4 times a week. I did get a refund only when my husband called to tell them its illegal to hide information from users.

  4. I bought the trial size and tried it. It was okay but I didn’t always remember to take it. Just recently I received a 60 count bottle and I was surprised. I looked on my credit card statement and saw the $74 charge and was really surprised. I called to cancel immediately. The guy was nice but he kept pushing on me to keep the bottle and offered a 6% refund. Eventually he gave me a return number and cancelled my “prescription.”

  5. I saw the commercial and thought that it was worth trying. Got the trial, felt pretty good about it, and now I am purchasing the full version. The weight loss is definitely imperative on minor work outs and eating healthy, but the probiotic element is great. Stomach is functioning properly, and I have been having regular BMs.

I am trying to figure out why people are down on the product, but I can say it has done wonders for me!

  8. I’m not fat, but I got this “free trial” for the possible benefits to a UC patient. I lost the bottle while I was moving, but the one pill I did take before that seemed great. Maybe the caffeine, maybe the ingredients. I don’t know. I look forward to trying it daily, but yeah, I don’t need the $75/mo charge (which reminded me I had the 1st sample already here. This stuff goes for $50 at retail stores.

  9. Autoship programs are attached to virtually every “free trial offer” no matter what product they’re hawking. It doesn’t necessarily mean the product is bad. And they all have a date by which you must cancel future shipments and a phone number to call. So read the fine print (sometimes you really have to search for it) or listen closely to the representative if placing free trial order by phone. Make a note on your calendar to cancel before deadline.

There are some consumer reviews here that seem pretty positive, and I would say the same thing. My digestive system has taken a turn for the better and I have been very excited with my results. I am very happy with the results.

I decided to do a full life turn around and start exercising and eating right. I actually am on a new diet which has worked and my doctor recommended I find a probiotic supplement to help my progress. ProbioSlim has done the trick for me.

I recommend ProbioSlim because not only is it an effective probiotic but it helps curb appetite so you don’t find yourself eating filling crap and are able to invest more of your time in healthier alternative foods.

  17. I took the trial offer and am happy with the product but do not want to keep any membership. I called to cancel the membership and told the guy that if I decide to buy more probioslim I can do so on amazon or at another retailer. I told him three times to cancel my membership but he was insistent that I allow them to extend the free trial. I allowed him to extend the free trial but then the next day I get an email saying I am being charged 39.99 for a 30 day supply. They are closed now but I will be calling them Monday. This FREE TRIAL followed by a forced membership really makes this company seem shady. If they would just do honest business and give a free trial with all the details on how to buy at the end of the trial I think it would be much more ethical.

  20. Be very careful when ordering this product as once signed up for a free trial, there is a disclaimer (I didn’t see it anywhere in my initial ordering) stating that you have 18 days before being charged for $75.
    I received my trial on 9/7/2014 and was charged 9/15 for $75. It has been just over a week. I called to cancel this ‘trial’ membership as while I was initially pleased by the product, I was completely turned off by the sneaky way to get $$$. I looked on all my email interaction to contact them and you need to call 1-877-869-3308. I did speak to a nice lady who was trying to help and do her job, but was not listening to me but rather going down a script trying to offer other options besides giving me my money back.
    Just an annoying experience.

  23. I tried ProbioSlim for about 3 months. I really wanted to give it a chance to work. I did not notice any difference and made sure I took them everyday. There are other probiotics out there that I found worked for me and were not anywhere the cost of ProbioSlim. This did not work for me at all and the cost, I feel, is overpriced, even for those it does work for. I did not like the autoship with this company. I have done autoship for other products with many other companies. In my opinion ProbioSlim was horrible to deal with to cancel my shipments. Yes, I got the same as a few of you mentioned, “we will discount” no I just want to cancel. “Well why?” It is not working. “Are you sure?” It was extremely annoying. I understand they don’t want to lose a customer but this guy really got on my nerves.

  24. I think the cost in comparison to other probiotics is very affordable for the product. It is essentially two great products in one, so I’m not going out buying a diet pill along with another probiotic. I have enjoyed my usage of the supplement and definitely recommend it to others.

I called the company they offered me a credit of $20 I turnned it down I did not want the product than I was offered a credit of 60% off the product and the credit would have been issues today.   30. After having used the product and seen all these comments, it would appear that probioslim actually works. I’ve lost a couple pounds through my first two weeks. Maybe it doesn’t help the people that still eat junk food, but for me I have noticed a good decline on the scale and plan to keep taking the product.

  36. Company CLAIMS they stated you agree to subscription. I looked AGAIN, no, if it is there you have to search. They try to talk you into keeping for 60 percent, threaten if you contact your credit card that they won’t refund anything and you’ll lose in fight with credit card. Finally agreed to refund cost but not shipping. Total jerks. BEWARE!! DON’T GET THE FREE SAMPLE, it isn’t good and is not worth it.

  42. I rang the company today and after cancelling the product they offered me a refund. I was taken aback because I was not expecting this. I refused and told them I had used 4 bottles and it wasnt working for me but there was no guarantee that it would work , so I saw it as my own decision to take the formula.

A friend of mine recommended it to me on Facebook after I put out a post discussing my desire to take the next step to losing weight. Used up my free trial and am continuing on with the product.   48. The best thing I have found to gain a competitive edge on weight loss. I am not very overweight, however I am not as slim as I would like to be. Especially after I eat, I look bloated and I hated it. Found ProbioSlim a little bit back, and I have felt amazing ever since. I no longer looked bloated, including after I eat.

I got ticked and called they finally gave me a return ship number but I have yet to receive my refund! Crooks, Liars, Thieves!   55. I see how everyone thinks this is a scam, and I certainly agree but only to the degree that it is an overpriced product that likely doesn’t give the promised results.

    BUT I purchased the trial and I DID look at the fine print and saw that it did indeed state that after the 14 day trial (4 days added for packing and shipping) you will be automatically signed up for a monthly membership for $75 (or whatever the actual price is) unless you cancel first.

    So I set a reminded on my calendar in 13 days to cancel if I didn’t like the product. Today was the 13th day, I didn’t like the product and figured it was overpriced and wanted nothing further to do with it, so I called the number that you can find if you click Contact Us on their website, waited for a minute, and spoke to a representative. He pushed me to cancel by saying that they would send me another free bottle, but I said to cancel anyway and not send the free bottle, and he said very well, it’s cancelled, and that’s all there was too it!

    I’m not defending this company to say this product is great or anything, just that most of these people didn’t read the fine print. Yes, this is EXACTLY what the company wants you to do, that is how they primarily make their money, by tricking everybody into unwillingly paying a couple times, which is wrong, but legally, it is technically the buyer’s fault for not being fully aware when purchasing the trial. Buyer beware.

  56. Finding a probiotic was not the easiest process at first, there are so many out there! After coming across ProbioSlim, I feel like I finally found something just for me.

    I work and go to school, so I am constantly running around. I eat as healthy as humanly possible, but sometimes I can’t get a full meal in until night time and afterwards I feel really bloated and it stinks.

    Then I found ProbioSlim and not only has it helped with some weight loss, but I don’t feel as bloated after I eat big meals, etc. Great product, I definitely recommend it!

I cancelled the bs “VIP membership” and the rep was trying to convince me not to, but then I told him my credit card was already over the limit and if they tried to bill me the transaction would be declined….then he cancelled it. What a scam!

  60. Definitely recommend checking ProbioSlim out at your retailer if nothing else. I am not “overweight” but I have been making strides to be a healthier me. ProbioSlim has definitely worked for me, and as stated earlier, I purchase at my drugstore instead of online.

  62. This is opt out marketing which is illegal in Canada FYI. When I retire and have the time, I will be pursuing legislation that makes this marking tactic illegal. In the meantime, I am very cautious of these “free” trial as nothing is really free. I read every bit of the multiple pages on their website so they have very cleverly hidden the “monthly plan” from consumer view. I also called to ensure it was indeed free (no catch) and was assured it was. I have called repeatedly and will continue until I have a return order (which they can wait for until June when I am back in the country) and advised my credit card company of the dispute. Continue to refuse the charges by disputing them.

  64. My doctor recently suggested that i take priobotics.So when i saw the free trial offer from Pribioslim i signed up.I paid the 4.99 for s/h.
    But when i least expected it 74.98 was taken from my bank account.That may not seem like alot to some but for a single working mom it was huge!!
    i called 1-877-869-3308 and was told 41.99 would b put back in my account (which it was 2 days later) and when i got the shipment i could return it and get rest of my money.
    it has been days still havent seen shipment(which i didnt order) so called customer service and was told i chose option to get part of my money back which led to me getting upset which led to rep thinking its ok to yell at me.but finally was told i could ship it bk to get refunded rest of money!!!!
    Guess we will see…

  67. I decided to try the Probioslim through their 14 day free trial offer. After waiting for 13 days and not yet having received the product, I decided to cancel my account with them. I contacted customer service via telephone and sat on hold for about 5 minutes while they ran a commercial for the product, followed by one for another that claims to help you sleep. After the commercial run throughs were over, a recorded message asked me to stay on the line but almost immediately had the phone go dead. (these are not free calls from Canada) My second attempt went through in just a few minutes.

    The customer service rep acknowledged that the product had just cleared customs and having had similar problems with shipments to Canada, offered to put my account on hold until June 10th….. no shipments or charges until then. When I tried to decline stating concerns with auto shipping, the rep tried a number of arguments to try to get me to reconsider. Once I explained that I preferred control over my receiving an order rather than company assurances, he had no further rebuttal.

    I want to state clearly that other than having to pay for the telephone infomercial while on hold, I had no problems cancelling my shipments. The customer rep wasn’t aggressive or pushy and sent my cancellation confirmation email in just minutes.

    If, after trying the product I find that it works, I will reorder. I have no qualms about dealing with this company at this point.

You know what, at first I thought I was going to use the free trial and then call them up to cancel, but not only was I getting pretty interestingly positive results in the first 14 days, but when I did call up their customer service, the conversation I had with them was so good that I reconsidered. Their rep was informative, answered my questions, and I have now been using probioslim for 2 months now with good weight loss and a healthier diet.

  70. Yes, I also signed up without seeing the $75/month thing until I went to cancel my membership (I live in the U.S and called 1-877-869-3308), and even then I had to search for it. I received an order confirmation stating everything had been cancelled. The product itself seemed to work a bit for my grandmother but I still would NOT recommend this just b/c of the somewhat surprise of a charge and NOT so Free trial.

    All I can say, is that I actually use the product and didn’t even bother with the free trial because I had a friend that already swore by it.

    Works great for me, especially because I’m not lazy and actually work out / eat right.

  74. I do not work for ProbioSlim, nor am I affiliated with them in any way. I ordered the trial several days ago and it was very clear that if I did not call them to cancel that I would be charged monthly for additional shipment. Anytime you are offered a free “trial” of anything it is almost a given that there is some type of catch. I was not able to take the pills long enough to notice anything because I am sensitive to almost everything I put in my body, including these pills. I called the customer service number and even though I was on hold listening to the same annoying message for 8 minutes, when I did get a representative, I explained that the pills weren’t for me and she was very kind and cancelled everything for me.

    Lesson to everyone – read everything before you give your credit card number to any website. There is always fine print or a “catch”.

  75. I, as well as many, went through the 14 day free trial. At first I contact them to cancel the trial but I really wanted to keep going. After talking to a great service rep of theirs, I decided to keep with my subscription. No one ever told me anything about sleeping, but rather that ProbioSlim was going to help me continue to loss weight and provide me with the probiotics I needed.

    I never argued with anyone, but simply decided I wanted to keep it going and thank gosh I did. The last couple of months have been made a true difference to me. Losing weight is a thrilling experience, considering I have just been steadily gaining weight since college (and that was a while ago). I finally hit a point where I didn’t feel comfortable anymore and started looking for answers to help speed up the process because I was dieting and hitting the gym weekly.

    Confirmation of my dedication has been set forth. ProbioSlim gave me the edge I needed. So incredibly happy, only people that have stuck with trying to lose weight can really understand. Thanks to this company.

  76. First, I am an EXPERIENCED internet user and online shopper. I NEVER order anything without thoroughly reading all o the fine print. So I decided to order this “FREE” trial for just the cost of $2.99 for shipping.

    I was promised they would only charge shipping. NO mention was made of an Autoship program. Then I saw the charge for $74.98 on my card. I IMMEDIATELY called my bank and was told that I would have to call the company to cancel. So I called the number from the order confirmation email. I was on hold for 2.5 HOURS listening to a recording that is their advertising on an endless loop. This is unacceptable. They pull this so you will get disgusted and hang up without cancelling your order.

    After that I went to my bank directly and they are reversing the charge and blocking this company from charging my account any further.
    If you really want to try this product do not order it online or via the phone. It is available thru GNC and I believe Walgreens. But it is sorely over priced and did nothing for me

  77. I fell for the free trial, and when I called to cancel before the “trial time” was up, they actually talked me into an extension PLUS a free trial of something called “BODYFIT”. I saw and felt no real improvements. Today was the day to cancel, but I had lost the number, so thank you for having that on your site.I called, listened though probably 20 minutes of canned advertising, and finally got a real live person. I told them I wanted to cancel, and was not given the hard-sell push I had expected. They said they cancelled and emailed me confirmation. Now we wait to see if they told the truth!

  80. If you want to try this product, go through GNC or Amazon. The “free trial” offer has a hidden notice that, unless you contact the company to cancel, you will automatically be enrolled for monthly shipments. The notice is on the page where you enter your credit card information, bottom left in fine print. From what others are saying, contacting the company can be very difficult. And when you are able to contact the company,their first reaction is, “we’ll keep some of your money and you can throw out something you didn’t even want in the first place.” Don’t settle for that, demand a return shipping address and a full refund. If you have a horrible experience, contact the Better Business Bureau and let them know as well as your banks fraud department. If there is anything else that you can/should do, they will know.

As of 8/1/2015 I mailed it off today. You had no right taking money out of my account because I cancel my account on 7/14/2015. I even called you after 7/14/2015 to make sure my account showed it was cancel. There for you used my credit card info without my consent. Even after I canceled my account. I will be contacting my attorney ASAP unless the money is put back into my account as soon as possible. Like NOW !!! 8/1/2015 the amount you took out was $54.98 I have tracking numbers on both products that I’m returning and I also expect a refund on the them ASAP. It is stated when you sign up for the trial that you are enrolling on a monthly auto shipment, it is naïve to think that you will get a free trial with not enrolling in something, its how this free trials work. I have to say it was THE EASIEST!!! cancelation I ever had to do, I marked my calendar, its a 14 day trial, not 30 days, and I called 1-877-869-3308 I got a live person between 1 minute, he was very helpful even sent me an email with the confirmation, and I was done…. taking advantage of free trials its always a good idea, but you have to do the work if you don’t want to keep getting charged and called BEFORE the trial ends and you will save lots of hassle….nothing its for free, always take the time to read the fine print…whenever you are giving your credit card number, read what you are signing up for,

However, you have to do the work and unless you are buying supplements that come recommended from a legitimate marketplace that has a catalogue of items, etc….. More than likely it’s a scam. Always better and important to check with the BETTER BUSINESS BUREAU WEBSITE before trusting your supplement dollars to ANYONE!!

    Can you imagine that you buy something only one time and they start shipping you crap automatically?????
    I would have a big warehouse of crap!!!
    I’m contacting the Attorney General here in Nebraska, to put a stop to these auto shipment options!!! I think one should be required to contact them to make something like auto shipment as a second call or it must be initiated by the customer FIRST. EVEN that should have an a email or a text to you every month, before one gets something shipped and charged!
    They also refused to send me a self pre-paid envelope to ship this crap back and they refused to refund my money for the SH, $4.99!!!!!

I tried emailing them since 7th March but I got no response so today I called them and it said it’s offline and I should call at the Eastern time the US and now I just called them and told them that I want to cancel my free trial. The guy on the line asked me why I said I don’t want it anymore and he said that he will put me on the second trail but I said no. Finally, he said he will send me a confirmation email about the cancelation and I said that I will also check with my bank to know if they actually canceled it.
    Fingers cross I hope they did cancel it. I also got the email.
    I learnt a lesson, never trust this kind of offers.
    I would recommend peopel not to take teh free trail becasue it will be really hard to cancel the trail.

I called to cancel and they tried to sell me something different instead of cancelling. If I can’t take a pill that is for digestion and weight loss how can I take a pill for weight loss only. Finally after several times repeating myself. She said she would cancel for me. For some reason I feel like I will be charged again for it.

  100. Here’s a trick I figured out years ago with one of these scams.. If you didn’t have to sign for the delivery, call your CC company, and tell them you never received the product.. I also mailed them 40-50 posts of people calling out what a scam it was..

    Tell the CC company since the scam company never sent you the product, they never made the contract LEGAL.. Hence no contract – hence you are not liable for future payments..
    The CC company will have to honor your request, and take back the money they sent the scam company, and will possibly not honor charges by other individuals to this company, I have had that happen.. A charge didn’t go thru, I called the CC company, they said they had a number of complaints, and would not honor charges to that company..

    Another time, I got dragged into a scam.. I posted to Graiglists all over the US.. Got a lot of similar responses. printed them all out and brought to bank.. They killed and retracted the transition..
    If your bank is slow to respond (bank own CC cards).. Tell them you will cancel all your cards, withdraw your funds and go to their competition.. Banks are afraid of losing customers..

  102. Late in October I purchased a trial of Probio slim order no 10015792. There has been a number of attempts to withdraw $106.00 from my card This extra payment was not authorised in any way. There is one payment of $106 pending from my card. Please cancel this pending transaction.
    If this does not happen I will forward this complaint to the police.

People the real and only effective way too lose weight is good exercise and diet, you get what you put in, too many people look for the easy pill options. it really is just good old fashioned effort that gets results, instead of sitting go for walks watch what you eat and research healthy foods or even better grow your own healthy vegetables. good luck.

I called 5 times, went through the automated menu, and was connected with a representative. No one ever said anything though. Problem is, on the 5th call the representative didn’t say a word until I SAID HELLO IS ANYONE THERE? how weird is that?

  108. I bought mine at Walmart yesterday for $16.99. Same brand. Same product. Don’t buy through the website if you want to try it. This is my first day trying it so I don’t know if it will work or not. I need the energy as much as the green tea to lose weight. I do feel it is important if you are having trouble with your digestive tract to start taking a probiotic to help it. I’ve taken TruBiotics and MiraFiber for two months and have felt much better. Hope this works for some weight loss.
