Is the PurSlim Green Coffee Cleanse a scam?

Is the PurSlim Green Coffee Cleanse a scam?

PurSlim Green Coffee Cleanse at first glance seems a good offer as it claims to be able to “flush the pounds” naturally and quickly.

Unfortunately when you start looking at the supplement in more detail you start to realise why it may not be the best idea to sign up for the trial.

For instance when you see statements such as “voted #1 cleanse product in N/A” you may start to become suspicious of the claims being made.

You should be especially wary of trial offers anyway as most are only designed to get you to sign up for an auto ship program, which is why we have decided to take a closer look at PurSlim.

Claims made by PurSlim?

PurSlim makes the following claims regarding its benefits:

  • Flush your system
  • Balance your body
  • Energise your life
  • Retain focus alertness

Now, these claims are a little hard to understand. What does “retain focus alertness” mean? It simply does not make sense.

Perhaps looking at the ingredient of PurSlim will help give us a better idea of what benefits it can actually provide, if any.

PurSlim ingredients

It is obvious that this supplement is made using green coffee beans as this fact is mentioned countless times, with various images of the beans used too.

What is less obvious is the amount of green coffee beans used, with no mention whatsoever of its dosage or whether any other ingredients have been used.

This is disappointing as there is no way of knowing how effective this supplement is, whether it has any effect or whether it will cause any side effects.

Cost of PurSlim

While using statements such as “claim free bottles” and “try risk free” the truth is the PurSlim will certainly cost a lot more than you bargained.

To start there is a shipping charge to be paid then 14 days later you will be charged the full purchase price (£60/$79).

This is certainly not clear when first viewing the sales page as this payment information is hidden away in the terms and conditions.

Is PurSlim a scam?

PurSlim may not be a scam, but it cannot be recommended either simply due to a lack of ingredient information and its higher than normal price.

There are plenty of alternatives out there that are willing to disclose their ingredients so you know exactly what benefits will be experienced. These are often much more cost effective too.

How to contact/cancel PurSlim?

To contact or to cancel your PurSlim trial you should use the following contact methods:

    • Like many others i read all the hype about this product and its partner True Cambogia and finally succummed to purchasing it via a link on Huffington post. I really believed it was a one off purchase and didnot see any information recarding further payment or actual price of the product. Like many i didnot read all of the T&C and like many paid the price for it. I have however read the terms and conditions all the way through now and find that reference to payment occurs on page 5 and that returns are only allowed if the product is damaged or faulty also it states at the end that “you will only be billed once for the product unless you place subsequent orders” Is this a possible way to get our money back as they have billed me three times? I have lodged a complaint with trading standards and spoken to the internet fraud team. I am also sending the details to as many people on Facebook to get it out there and to try and warn others, I’ve also commented on the watchdog site if they get enough complaints it might stop them trading. Let’s do what we can to make others aware.

        • There is light at the end of the tunnel. Thanks to this page. Which I found & read after being scammed for £320.00. Like u all I cancelled immediately to be told sorry can’t do that. With the usual messages stating there terms. I contacted my bank. But also kept emailing them. Finally I messaged them 2 days ago to say it’s day 16 no sign of the product so how can I return the product in time or have the 14 day trial. So I would leave it to my bank & the cab. With no further emails. Today. I have the full amount refunded to my bank & the product turned up. Which I did return as I said I would. So there is hope for you all. Hope u get your money back .

      • I am in Germany. The same thing happened to me but I immediately went to the bank and told them I did not authorise the full payment for this product only the delivery charge for the so called free trail, which was billed separately .

I then had to go to the police department and file a report for an online scam giving the information I had. I then returned to the bank where they sent the report to my credit card company and I was reimbursed the amount to my current account within the month.

It did take up a bit of my time but it was worth getting my money back!

    • Hi All,

I ordered items on 6th Feb. after 14 days they took 158.00 from my account. I emailed them and was told about the terms and conditions. They state that if in fact you return the items to them within 30 days of “ORDERING” then they will refund the amount. I went to the post office on Thursday 19th Feb and posted them back the items in its packaging as it cams UNOPENED and paid an extra £22.00 to post them RECORDED DELIVERY WITHIN 3-5 WORKING DAYS. I tracked the item yesterday and according to the post office it has been delivered. (which means they signed for it that they accepted the item). So i emailed them yesterday saying that the tracking says that the returns were delivered and that I expect a full refund however I have yet to have a reply and I am hoping this is due to it being the weekend. Furthermore I checked my account tonight and there was a further 99.00 taken out so my next step is to take it up with my bank. I will not stop at that though….. I have always wanted to go to Amsterdam and believe me when I say that if I am not refunded I will definitely be paying them a little visit. I will let you know how it develops or keep an eye on the news.

My bank basically says it my own problem that I should have read the t&c but I didn’t even see any. I’ve been told there’s no way to receive my money back and just to accept it’s a harsh lesson learnt and also been told not to take them as I dont know for sure if it’s the actual product. I have my son’s 1st birthday in a few weeks and I may now have to cancel his party and the money I had I was saving for his special day I’m so devastated they dont realise the upset they cause.

If this makes you feel just a little bit better, I have the unopened packages as I checked my account before the items arrived to find they had held 2x $198.00 deductions which today 25/03/2015 has gone. Getting back to the packaging and once I noticed the deductions I took the unopened packages to the Post Office as there is a Ref number and bar code to find out that there is NO RETURN ADDRESS….Just came form somewhere in Hong Kong. Have completed my dispute form with my Financial Institution today. So much for a FREE TRIAL only pay $4.95 Shipping & Handling. I generally only buy from Australian sites which indeed this one said 100% Australian and I recall reading we do not send to you monthly like other companies, you can order as you like……..FALSE. We have been scammed.

    • Purslim is most definitely a scam. Do not order from this web site, I saw it advertised on the Huffington Post web site which I considered to be reliable. On 15 Jan 15, I ordered 2 bottles of the 14 day free trial for £4 each for post and packing. I was immediately debited £16, not £8 as I expected? The product did not arrive for 14 days until 28 Jan 15 and only after emailing daily to support@purslim.com to enquire why it had not arrived. On the same date the product arrived I was sent an email of the terms and conditions.

They do not accept returns once the product is opened, so how can you trial it? In any case, mine didn’t arrive until 14 days after I had ordered it anyway so there was no opportunity to cancel it.
On the 14th day after my order had been placed this unscrupulous company have debited my account for £316.00 in 2 sums of £158.00. I have cancelled the order with them and instructed my bank to not accept any further debits from them. The fraud department of my bank are investigating this company and I hope will help to get my £316 refunded. The basis of your complaint should be that the terms and conditions were not made available to you at the time of placing an order. This is very important. Good luck to anyone out there who has been scammed like me.

    • Hi Didi

I have been advised by my credit card company that these conmen have already refunded £89 to my account but I’m still not happy about that – seeing I have still not received anything. My cc company asked had I read the t&c’s and I said there wasn’t any to read! However I did have a go at the cc company for authorising the payment when I had insufficient funds to cover it. They have credited the rest of the amount back into my account, but are still sending forms out for me to complete.

I am still hounding these conmen and will not let it lie. Keep going everyone – hopefully you will win! I’ve also told the cc company that the only dialogue I have had is by email as the phone number does not connect and I have read that the postal address does not exist, but I can’t confirm that.

  9. I had similar issues with another site, pretty much the same deal as this one, trial offer, 14 days etc. The only problem is I live in Australia and the product was being sent from the US. So basically it was 10 days and still no product, I had already been charged the postage and some other fee, and I decided to do some digging and found that these people just DONT STOP charging your card or sending you stuff! I immediately got online and cancelled my order, stating that I thought it was ridiculous that it was 12 days in and I still hadn’t received the order, therefore no chance of my trialling it within the 14 day trial period, so felt it was a waste of time. I had to email them about 5 times before they eventually got back to me and agreed to cancel my order. I made it very clear in the email, that there were to be no further charges to my credit card and it was an immediate cancellation, so far so good, nothing else has been charged and everything is good.

  11. While I don’t recommend the way that the Garcinia Cambogia site has ripped people off, it states clearly in their terms of agreement that you will be charged the full amount if the product is not returned after 14 days…..

    Reply
    • It also states in their T&C that products cannot be returned unless damaged or faulty returning them within 14 days cause you’ve changed your mind will not cancel the order.

      • They took $400 from my account but had not had any product delivered. 24 days after the initial order before they arrived. Does that make them in breach of their T & C as no trial period was available. I contacted my bank and canceled my card, they have a temporary credit pending all correspondence with this company. It’s now up to me to prove I have been conned. These people are well know to the Fraud investigators but trying to shut them down is not an easy get. They just start up again under another name and scan. Tip don’t buy anything online till you check all the blogs like this one.

    • But they charge you right away, they take your money there and then. I have had an email stating nor returns due to H&S! Other people here have also posted that they are disputing any returns made to them. I have tried to phone them, the number does not connect. Total fraud in my eyes, and they should be totally exposed one way or another.

  14. BEWARE BEWARE BEWARE This is a TOTAL RIP OFF.
    DO NOT BUY FROM THEM!
Firstly you can try it for 14 days BUT it does not reach you before 14 days is up!

Then, it says try it BUT if you open it you cant return it so how are you supposed to try it.

Then on day 14 on the dot they debit your account for TWO bottles but they advertise one is for free! When you query they say it is in terms and conditions but the terms and conditions are ‘hidden’ on the page you have to do an active search of their home page to find them. They are not on the order page!

IN addition you cannot return it to the local agent that shipped it to you you have to send it back to Netherlands and it MUST reach them within 30 days!

Cancel your future orders! As they keep taking the money now in future! Also contact your bank and try getting money back for fraud from them as they have insurance for these sort of things. This company never give us terms and conditions only now we been scammed they emailed them to us!
I also sent my report about this to watchdog uk, so the more of us lets watchdog know about this the more likely they will do something about it too.

I phone my bank and cancelled my card so they will not be able to take any payment, I am just worried how what they will do when payment will not go through in 14 days. I will send products straight back when I receive them. T&C’s are not easy to find at all they should be made clear on the main pages. If more of us speak up about this hopefully the banks will listen. Maybe time to contact watchdog?

So disappointing to see such and organisation do something like this without consultation. I have had to cancel my credit card to ensure they dont continue to charge to it as I no longer trust them and have stopped taking the pills and I have doubts as to their authentication… Very disappointing. My 14 days are up tomorrow. I have emptied my Bank Account to another. I have reported my CARD as Lost or Stolen, which means they cannot use the details I have given them very stupidly when I booked a “free” trial. This should stop any more money going from my account.
Very few details come in when you get confirmation. I went to the main web sites:
    True Cambogia Tel No 44 203 129 8941
    PURSLIM Tel 44 203 129 8941
I HAVE NOT PHONED THEM IN CASE OF HORRENDOUS PHONE CHARGES, I am so suspicious of them now. Be Careful.
So cross I was taken in…..too good to be true, and was in a weak moment when I placed this trial. Iots hassle changing your card details, but better than loosing any more money. I have cut my losses and will be speaking to the Bank later to confirm no more money EVER by DD to these people…just to be SURE! Now on to Trading Standards in Netherlands…..

I received an email today that they have refunded money to my card account along with the usual statement saying it can take 7-10days( which it can do, as it depends on how quickly your bank/credit card company takes to process the refund to your account.)

Today I did the following to cancel any further shipments and charges. As for the original charges I guess I’ll have to suck it up and have learned a very expensive lesson.

To cancel the 2 phones numbers (in the Netherlands) I called were from Purslim and True Cambogia leaflets. +31-20-241-0926 and +31-20-808-4783. Press 1 for English. (both had answer phones – one directing you to google search csm123.com and the other to leave name, email etc.to cancel.

To cancel go to csm123.com and follow the instructions on the page. This is probably the easier option.

  62. I too have been scammed. I received the products 12 days after order and 2 days later had $250 ‘stolen’ from my account. I immediately contacted my bank to stop any further ‘unauthorised’ transactions and contacted the company to which them emailed me today to say that the terms and conditions that I ticked were that I agreed to a 14 day ‘trial’.

I have responded that ‘they’ have broken the terms and conditions as the definition of a trial is that the customer gets to ‘experiment, test, proof’ the product for 14 days to be able to view/see/achieve results (look it up in the dictionary). It does not state in their terms and conditions that the trial period starts on the day you order the products as that would be in breach of the actual definition of a ’14 day trial’. This is my argument and I’m going to fight them ‘literally’. It is also impossible that if they are taking (probably deliberately) 12-14 days to deliver the goods, you cannot possibly trial them for 14 days and return them before the 30 day period from time of order to time of goods being returned if cancelled. Therefore their agreement terms and conditions do not meet consumer regulations and probably don’t even meet the consumer act. It’s unrealistic, unachievable and a complete con.

If you contact your bank and inform them to not authorised any transactions from this company, they have to act on it.

Don’t let these thieves get away with it any more.

  63. My wife has been scammed also by this deceptive dealer PurSlim and True -Gambogia. The lesson from internet dealing and the click of the “send” button.Thinking she was ordered a trial (free product) with no money involved it certainly turned out differently. The cost is hidden in the Terms and Conditions as one previous comment stated. She thought she was dealing with a USA based company only to learn one product came from Hong Kong and the other from Taiwan. The goods only arrived in the last week and of course we noticed our bank balance was $198A less .She urgently sent an email saying goods unopened and doesn’t want anything to do with them. Also want the money back. Their reply was offering for her a 30% discount and only pay $277AUD.Yeh like no way. We replied saying no way and she would return the goods to the Holland address. We advised our bank and cancelled the card she used on the order. Wow this is a lesson we should all learn. Keep away from internet dealings unless it is a reputable well known company. We pay a price for dealing with faceless people overseas .Once they have your account details the debits to your account could keep coming forever. If we get the money back I will post a comment. We should all keep trying and not give in. Let all your friends know..

This is a horrible nightmare, I’m a first year uni student and already in debt with my overdraft as it is, only saw this site today when I recieved the product as I thought I’d do some research to double check that they were safe. Finding out that this much money would leave my account is insane, my stress levels are through the roof I’m so worried. My 14th day is in 2 days and I’ve rang the bank today to let them know the situation and tell them to block these people trying to take money, which they said they will do within 48 hours, I’ve also cancelled my card and ordered a new one in the pure hope that they won’t be able to access my money. I’m terrified.

  66. i fell for this on 13march – purchase on a 2month trial basis for £4.99 per product – Purslim and true Cambogia for best results. as soon as i got my order confirmation minutes later i went back to the site because i just had a bad feeling about it. i found t and c’s where it gave a table of cost depending on country and uk was £79 per item.
it also stated p and p would be taken immediately which it was-2 lots of £8 were debited from my account. it also said you will be sent other offers and would be debited 14days later. so they dont email to see if you are interested but send it regardless so they can charge you. So i emailed immediately after ordering to cancel. i had no reply till early hours of the following wed morning-4days later. they said we cant cancel – even tho terms say cancellation ok – they gave me address to return items before they would refund me and they talked of £110 per item!! i challenged them on everything and told them not to send me anything else..their ‘customer service’ is suspect too. emails at 5am and nothing again for days and they just kept saying it had already been despatched. I told them they will receive no money from me apart from the £8 postage and i will be contacting trading standards. i also told them to explain the £110 and that nowhere on their homepage did it mention the p and p OR the true charges – in fact £4.99 was the only figure given and was clear that was the charge. no doubt that its a total scam. I did stop my card and am waiting on a reissue and i pray that come Friday they are unable to withdraw any money. my bank did say also that if i had emails where i cancelled with them and they still took the money they would reimburse my account. which is great….but i can’t afford for the money to be taken at all and dear knows how long it would take to get it back. surprise too, the return address is a PO box!! i told them if i even received the items no way am i wasting any more time or money while they line their pockets!! hope everyone gets their money back x

I cancelled my card and reported it as lost
I rang my bank (HSBC) and told them this company would take more money in two weeks which I have not authorised. They put a block on this.
And just incase I changed my bank account, which only changed today (15 days after I first ordered)
I was lucky, I have been worrying about this for two weeks. This is the advise I can give anyone else who makes the same mistake.
Do not order from this company or any like it if you are thinly about it. Total scam. Hope this helps someone

After watching 16 and pregnant and following the story of one mom’s struggle with weight loss , we were then to.d about the products that she had used which were True Gambogia and Pure slim green coffee cleanse pills. There was then a short survey to take so that you could then receive a supply of these pills by only paying for the delivery ! After recently being off work for two months due to knee surgery and piling on the weight , I stupidly fell for this 🙁 I paid the delivery on my pills which came the 10th of March but yesterday I went to the bank and noticed that £158 was earmarked to leve my account . After finding out what it was I was furious !!! I’ve been on the phone to the bank who have said the company are known for being “tricky” and I have now entered into a monthly contract to pay the £158 which I have not . I have tried ringing the number for the company that’s above but it’s not the right number because it goes to a solicitors firm called Shakespears solicitors ! I’m at my wits end now and don’t know what else to do x

  75. I also made the mistake of ordering this crap. I honestly can’t believe I’ve been stupid enough to fall for it! I am so upset because I’m on a disability pension and struggle with making ends meet.
I did in fact read the small print and checked the appropriate boxes to not send any further bottles after the so called 14 day trial. After the initial delivery and a withdrawal of $198.00 from my account for both products x2 I tried to return it with out success – I realised by sending 2 bottles of each it was a scam, however there was no return address. I left multiple messages, both phone calls and emails, asking for a return address and to cancel any further unauthorised orders. I also asked for confirmation, which I never received. Today, while checking my bank account I noticed that another $98.00 was withdrawn from my account by PUR SLIM… I’m so upset as I now do not have money to get by for the rest of the week. I have stopped my card and will have to wait a week to be re-issued with a new one. Of course this is something I was hoping to avoid as I now have to set up automatic payments for my bills all over again. BTW, I’m from Sydney, Australia

I went to my bank and they refuse to refund any part of my money.
If you look on the internet you will find these products at £39.95 or there about. How can they justify that charge of £158 for one product and another £158 for another product. That’s a total of
    £316 from my account.

  81. I too have fallen victim to this. However, when the website claimed shipping was only $4 but I actually was charged $8 twice, I cancelled through their website and sent an email of my cancellation. I also contacted my card immediately and told them I was worried about further charges being made. They did nothing, and further charges were made. 3 times for the amount of $158 and 3 times for the amount of $198 cad. I received 4 months worth of product rather than a 2 week trial and I paid the return shipping to send it back. I’m in the middle of disputing the transaction but the woman with my card that I’m dealing with is quite unpleasant and has insinuated that it’s my own fault. In my opinion, having contacted them with concerns of being scammed and them not taking action makes it THEIR fault! Now I have to wait 45 days for the conclusion.

Spoke to my bank who said they couldn’t stop the payment and would do a dispute but couldn’t make any promises. They advised me to contact company direct and I did that. Sent them about 10 emails and also phoned the Netherlands number. Luckily I still had the website open and trawled thru looking for the terms and conditions. It’s in very faint lettering right at the bottom. Opened this and there was a quick cancel button at the top. Pressed that and entered my name and email and immediate response was account and any pending orders cancelled. I did all of this within 1 hour of processing my order. I have also had an email response confirming the order is cancelled and the payment voided. I am crossing everything hoping that it goes back in in full. Can’t believe I fell for it. DO NOT FALL FOR IT. THERE IS NOTHING ANYWHERE INDICATING THAT PRICE WILL BE ANY MORE THAN £4 FOR THE FREE TRIAL UNTIL YOUR ORDER GOES THROUGH

    • Did the ‘quick cancellation’ work, money refunded to you? I just did the same (after reading your post, thanks) and am hoping that I won’t get stung for £320. Utter wankers. I’m going to Amsterdam for a few days at the end of the month, am tempted to pay a visit to their (non-PO Box) address to pay my respects. If the quick cancellation doesn’t work then I’ll go through my bank as a fraudulent transaction, if no luck there then I’ll cancel my account and possibly switch banks!

It never actually physically left my account, it just showed as a pending transaction and reduced my available credit. It took about a week and then the credit available was back up to the full amount.

  91. I too wanted to try the trial offer for £4.95, But within a couple of minutes of placing the order I had 2 pending transactions for £160.00. So I was going to be billed for £320.00. I never signed up to pay that kind of money so I immediately cancelled the order with them. However no cancellation email came. I tried phoning but it was just an automated service and emailed them 20/30 times and finally got an email back saying thT the items had been dispatched and that I would have to return them for a full refund. I replied that having cancelled the order, with their cancellation link within couple of minutes of the trial purchase, I could not see how the items would have been dispatched!!!! I just then got sporadic emails offering me a discount for the next supply. I sat and sent a copy and pasted email over and over again warning them not to take my money.

I immediately went to my bank as soon as it opened and told them what had happened. They advised that because I had paid with my debit card and that the payment was still pending that they couldn’t do anything about it as a Debit card transaction is a guaranteed payment. However they advised to wait until the money went out of my account, which it did a couple of days later. The full £320.00 went out. I went straight back to my bank no had to phone their customer help line, the bank set me up in a room, and explain that I had only agreed for the 2 lots of £4.95 for the free trial for the Postage and packing. They bank then put in a payment dispute for the full amount and within an hour they had paid the money back into my account. I am now waiting forms from my bank to fill in and sign so that they can chase this company to get the money back. I still don’t know wether I will have to pay the £320.00 back to my bank, but when talking to the bank assistant she advised that they were usually successful in sorting it out and told me not to worry. Easy said!! They were aware of this scam and had had many people in the same situation as me.

Oh by the way I haven’t received the bloody things anyway, so not sure how I was supposed to return them in 14 days for a refund. This is a MAJOR SCAM DO MOT USE THIS COMPANY. I can’t believe Facebook and Amazon or anyone else promotes a scam like this. Come on Facebook and Amazon get you act together and stop these thieving B…..ds. So angry at these people.

I was expecting to pay postage and packaging but straight away I noticed that they were taking £157 and £59.40 from my credit card, I bombarded them with emails and reported my credit card as Lost or Stolen, which means they cannot use the details to get any more cash from me. There was no term & condition page there was no small print. Since applying for the free trial the advert that caught my eye seems to have vanished. This all happened on Friday 17th July and up to now no money has been taken so fingers crossed I have acted quickly as today is 21st July, I have also done a email to Watchdog to try and tell people not to trust them.

What a shock, but the pur slim product details came up and I pressed the ‘No Thanks’ tab and to my horror I was billed another £99.99. I immediately rang the canellations number and left a voice message. I have contacted the company numerous times since yesterday and no one has called me back.
