Raspberry Ketone Max trial scam

Raspberry Ketone Max trial scam

Since its first appearance on the Dr Oz Show sales of supplements containing Raspberry Ketones have exploded.

Unfortunately despite being shown to burn fat there are still people who are unhappy with their purchases.

The reason for this is that they have signed up for a trial of a supplement and have unwittingly signed up for an auto-ship program.

These kind of online scam are extremely common and in some cases people have lost hundreds of pounds.

Raspberry Ketone Max is another Raspberry Ketone supplement available as a trial, but does this mean that it is a scam?

We would need to look at its ingredients and how much it really costs before we can come to our conclusion.

Claims made by Raspberry Ketone Max

The following claims have been made on the Raspberry Ketone Max website:

  • Lose your cravings
  • Burn stored fat
  • Retain muscle mass

As you can imagine you will see similar claims made online by other products. They are standard claims, but unless we look at the ingredients used in this supplement then there is no way to verify them.

Ingredients of Raspberry Ketone Max

Raspberry Ketone Max contains Raspberry Ketones, Green Tea extract, Caffeine, Apple Cider Vinegar, Kelp and Grapefruit extract.

These have all been shown to aid slimming and as the dosages of these ingredients are listed you can see that using this supplement alongside a healthy diet and exercise regime should help see results.

Price of Raspberry Ketone Max

The cost of the 14-day Raspberry Ketone Max trial is £4.95, which is designed to entice people to sign up.

Once the trial concludes the true cost of Raspberry Ketone Max will become apparent with a charge of £95 being made to your account.

You will continue to be charged £99.95 each month thereafter until you cancel your membership.

Is Raspberry Ketone Max a scam?

Although the price of Raspberry Ketone Max is available to view in their terms and conditions very few people will actually read them, which will lead to calls that this particular supplement is a scam.

Even if you cancel your membership before the 14-day period has ended you are still going to be charged to send the product back along with a 20% restocking fee.

Either way you will be out of pocket, which in the present financial climate can put a huge strain on your finances.

How to contact Raspberry Ketone Max?

To cancel your membership to the Raspberry Ketone Max auto-ship program you should call (0)20 3014 4022 or email them at cancel@raspberry-ketonemax.com

The address for returns is as follows:

Alternative to Raspberry Ketone Max

There is one Raspberry Ketone supplement that is recommended more than any other, Raspberry Ketone Plus.

This supplement contains the recommended daily amount of Raspberry Ketone and is sold online by Evolution Slimming for £19.95, which as you can see is considerably cheaper than Raspberry Ketone Max.

  1. It started with continous pop ups while using the internet, stating that if I answered a few questions I would be guaranteed a free gift. Needed cheering up that day so I did and I won what I thought was a free bottle of Raspberry Ketone slimming pills. Supposedly free, it was worth giving them a try. I was dissapointed when I was lumbered with the £2.99 postage costs and then DEVASTATED when I checked my online banking 2 weeks later to find out this scheming company had taken £93 out of my account. I was and still am sick to the stomach. I have put on pounds in weight since(by comfort eating) (which rather defeats the whole issue). The shock of being £93 out of pocket (when I cannot afford to be out of pocket) has made me so unwell that l have added to my loss of income by taking two days unpaid leave from work. I have not received any more items in the post from these people either so I take it my FREE GIFT actually cost me £95.99 and two days loss of earnings. Great! Well I wont be fooled again

    • This is a copy of the email I have sent to the West Lothian Trading Standards.
Hope it is of some help to you. My next port of call is Watchdog.

      Dear Sirs
I am contacting you because of a Con which originates from your Area.

      The Company is Raspberry Ketone
My wife purchased some slimming pills from this company.
The cost £2.99, she obviously was unaware that this was a Trial for a period.

She was horrified to find that over the last three months she has been debited
      17/03/2014 £93
20/03/2014 £86 By Healthy Cleanse who advertised with Ketone Maxx
      15/04/2014 £95.99
No goods have been received whatsoever, her slimming pills of £2.99 have cost her £274.99

We have contacted her Bank who have said they are aware of this Con but said we must have agreed something but she was not aware of agreeing to anything..
I am pleased to say that the Bank will stop any more payments to this company.

Now we need to get this Con stopped so others are not Conned in the same way.

      • Hi Mike.

Thank you for your message. However I am not sure why you seem to think we are associated with Raspberry Ketone Max. This review serves only to highlight the issues I have discovered with this product.

      • Thankyou so much for the info. Have the same experience and am struggling to stop the shipment and auto payment. Bank were instructed not to allow any more payments and so far have allowed three! Is this bank working for me or for the scam co? So far have given the bank a ticking off, also the co. (their phone no. appeared on my bank statement), told them am reporting them for fraud, theft and also to bbc watchdog! Hoping to get some redress. Your info. very helpful, thankyou. jtw

        • Have you managed to obtain any redress or even money back re; this scam! My bank were supposed to stop further payments and have allowed three more even though they said they’d be stopped. Have now cancelled bank card, waiting for new one. I am JTW, see comments as seen above. They’ve actually taken half my winter fuel money. Scam? I think cockroaches would be insulted to be associated with these sorts of people. JTW

  2. Shirley and Mike should take comfort from my experience. Like Shirley I fell hook line and sinker for the free gift if you pay the postage. That is all they want because then they have got your bank details! How many times have we all been warned not to give those out? Not only that, I am certain I had the option NOT to sign up for the full course and made this clear. I recently received, whilst away from home the little bottle too. I do not remember choosing that option either,
I need slimming pills like I need a chocolate teapot!
The good news is that I called my bank and after the usual security they asked me what the problem was and only needed the figure £93 and were then telling me all the rest! They offered there and then to reverse the charges, no questions. In conversation, they told me that Visa who operate the system for them were well aware of this scam which has been going on since Christmas. Apparently when Visa ask the bank for the money back, they get it and it has never been challenged.
If Mike’s bank are being “iffy” I suggest another call, as the person to whom he spoke may not have been aware of the problem. If not go to Visa or other operator direct as they definitly do know about this. The Police too are involved and as the scam purports to be a BBC News item I imagine that they are not best pleased either!

    regards,

    Leo

  3. I too have been conned by this company. I signed up for the trial and have noticed today that £89.00 and £93.00 are to be debited from my account on Monday. I have contacted my Bank but the systems were down. I will contact them again to try and get these payments cancelled. I definitely did not sign up for anything only asked for the trial. I cannot use these anyway as I am on medication this was not mentioned in the advert. This advertisement came up on Facebook. I will let you know if I succeed in getting my money back. I have tried to cancel on the email provided here but if does not exist.

  4. I too have been conned out of £281.00 on Friday 16th May , I am now getting in touch with the bank about refunding my card. I too didn’t receive the product. I will be contacting trading standards Monday morning 19th May

  5. Billy i have contacted my Bank who will stop any future payments going through as they try to take funds each month. They have not refunded my 2 payments but are to investigate further. Apparently in small print if you do not cancel and return the product within 14 days they are entitled to make further debits to your account. I found
that the whole thing shot off the screen so fast nothing could be seen. I intend to contact Visa direct tomorrow on 0845 3660452 they are aware of the scam. I will also try to ring this fly by night company but if the phone no is like the emailaddress it will not exist. There are e mail addresses on the trial bottles too so I will also try those. Like you I shall be contacting Trading Standards and also tbe Daily Mirror as they are good and chasing scammers like these. They cannot say that you have broken a contract as there is no contract to break and also they are taking money for products they do not supply. A clear case of fraud

    Reply
    • my bank have told me they have taken £377.00 from my bank account as long as I can prove I haven’t received the product the retail fraud team will chase them for a full refund. I have spoken to the company and they have now cancelled my contract but I told them I haven’t signed a contract. I am pursuing them through my bank and with evidence that I did not receive the full product. oh and I contacted BBC watchdog as well.

  6. I have also contacted my babk who told me to ring 08435043145 and tell them you want to return the trial product and you want your account credited back for the amount charged.
I also had to request that they do not use my card for any further transactions.

I have sent an email to the address on the bottle confirming this and rang the telephone number above it was answered but I was told to ring back in 5 hours as they have technical issues!!! Will try later.
Has anyone got the address I can return the Ketone to. I have never even opened the bottle.
A bloody scam and I ordered through wowcher or Groupon so beware beware.

  7. Hi Wendy I have informed my Bank also and tried to ring the number on my last email given here. Needless to say they could not find my details and when I asked where I was ringing it was California. I also will email the addresses on the bottles and use the phone no you have provided thank you. I have rung trading standards in West Lothian and am awaiting a call back. Tomorrow I intend to contact Daily Mirror Sorted. Iam very angry about this as no disclaimer came up on Facebook and they are taking money for goods you do not want and they do not supply. I do not usually get ‘caught’ like this but on Facebook it appears that the BBC endorse the site and these products which of course give it credence.

Stopped any further payments from my bank and disputing £93 as a visa dispute as no goods arrived.
Watch this space! Disgraceful how they hide all the really important information in the small print of terms and conditions.

    • Now received £60 back to my bank account as I rang them again and asked for R M A a number, they tried it on again saying I had gone passed the trial 12 days so I said it is also in their terms and conditions that if the product is not for you can return within 30 days. He then offered me 30% of my money back if I keep the tablets I refused so he then offered me £50 if I keep the tablets. I told him to make it £60 and I would accept.
I received an email to confirm this and today have received the money. So it is worth pursuing.
I know it’s still £33 lost but better than £93.
Telephone number to ring is 08005460185

I have contacted Tesco bank and they said they cannot give my money back but will put a stop on future payments to ketone maxx. I have tried to phone ketone max but its impossible to get through, I have also sent them an email but as this is a scam I don’t think I ll get a reply. I will now contact trading standards and watchdog.

    • can’t believe I’m another name to add to this long list of people who’ve been ripped off by this company.
I was completing an online survey and was offered a free gift. I chose raspberry ketone supplement and was charged the £2.99 for shipping. I then noticed about 10 days later that the company had taken £93 from my account. As everyone else has commented, who can afford to have this amount of money debited from their account, especially when you don’t really set out to buy the goods in the first place! I have been in touch with my bank and they have set up a cancellation on any further debits, which means I do need to keep an eye on my statements and let them know if the company have requested more payments.

  11. Shirley and co. I have contacted this co who basically did not want to know. All they bleated on about was terms and conditions until I reminded them that they do not adhere to terms and conditions as they take money for goods they do not supply. They have emailed me back confirming cancellation of my ‘account’ and stating a rebill. Needless to say I am still waiting for my money back. I too am pursuing them through visa chargeback. I will contact Andrew Penman again tomorrow at the Daily Mail Sorted. My husband has just been diagnosed with a cancerous brain tumour so like Lynne I have better things to do than chase scum like these

I was not aware of this at any stage!!

were they have taken out not just the trial price
ketone max of £2.99 then there was another payment taken of £93.00
and another for healthy cleanse of £6.95 and then for for this amount £89.00
    TOTAL OF £191.94
OF ALL THIS AND YET I HAVE NEVER RECIEVED THIS PRODUCT
I WAS VERY SHOCKED TO SEE THIS AS I HAD NO IDEA OF SUCH PAYMENTS BEING TAKEN
    FROM MY ACCOUNT
I AM A DISABLED PERSON AND CANNOT AFFORD THIS SORT OF THING,
I HAVE BEEN IN TOUCH WITH MY CREDIT CARD COMPANY WHO HAVE CANCELED MY CARD AND WILL STOP ANY FURTHER PAYMENTS FROM BEING TAKING OUT
I HAVE EMAILED THIS COMPANY AND ASKED FOR A REFUND
ALL I HOPE IS THAT I GET IT ,
AFTER BEING SO STUPID THINKING I WOULD GET A FREE TRIAL,

  17. I signed up for both free trial products for my wife and I a couple of months ago. Had to use different bank accounts for each name (current and mastercard) and I’ve been stung for nearly £400. Even though I returned the products, I didn’t do it within the 14 days so according to my bank, it’s a legal transaction, so I’ve given them all that money and they’ve got their products back. Furthermore, they took more from my mastercard account this week under a third name even though I spoke to them and emailed them cancelling all subscriptions using the information on this site a month ago. The bank say they will refund that one payment as I already told them to prevent them from taking any more from my account. Just proves that they’re passing the bank account information between the company aliases which must be illegal. They showed a Channel 4 News and an Emma Bunton article to promote their product and obviously neither endorsed this company so I’m making a complaint to Trading Standards and hoping it can be referred to the Police. Names I’ve been scammed under include Ketone Maxx, Simple Detox and Vitacleanse (aka Vita Cleanse).

Mastercard would not refund the payments because I agreed to the terms & conditions when buying on line and thats what covers this company in law!! They did say they would cancel any futher transactions and gave me the number to ring to cancel the agreement with the company 0800 546 0204 which I have.
Good luck to you all. Lesson learned I think!!

Rather than fill in the online form, I called them, they are just a bunch of crooks, they give you lots of BS, I asked them why they say the BBC have endorsed their product when they have never even heard of them, it went very quiet
I told them they would be reported to trading standards for misrepresentation
They came back with even more BS, they said they have been endorsed by the BMA and various universities, but wouldn’t name them
They did keep asking for my card details though, I never did give it to them, I said send me the trial offer, if it works, I’ll pay for it by sending them a check
    They hung up
So it is a scam and I never got caught up in it, sorry for all you that did
