Australian actress Rebel Wilson has taken to Twitter to voice her concern about a diet company using her image to sell a miracle product without her authorisation.
This is not the first time that a company has done this as she has previously highlighted a similar scam.
“If you see a post about me relating to some “diet” product: this is a SCAM. Police alerted.”
Now she has re-iterated her views with the following tweets:
“If you see an image of me pop up in relation to a weight loss product/miracle pill: DO NOT CLICK, it is a scam.”
“Trying to stop the idiots who are trying to get away with this illegal use of my image.”
Beware of fake celebrity endorsements
Fake celebrity endorsements are being used to sell diet pills, in the past few months we have seen advertorials featuring celebs such as Jennifer Ellison, Fern Britton, Natalie Cassidy and Geordie Shore star Vicky Pattison.
If you come across an article claiming that a celebrity has lost weight using a diet pill, don’t immediately order. You may come to regret your decision.
Instead take your time to research how the celebrity actually lost the weight, sometimes these before and after images are years apart or have been taken during pregnancy.
Also, beware of any products that claim to be “risk-free” or are available as a trial. These often lead onto the sign up of an auto-ship program that could potentially result in hundreds of your hard-earned pounds being lost.
How to lose weight?
Of course there are some dietary supplements that can help your own efforts, we have a few listed in the top right of this website. However, you cannot solely rely on the use of a supplement.
Not only because you will see better results if you put in a little of your own weight, but also because once you stop using the supplement you don’t want the weight to creep back on do you?
I would suggest that you make some dietary changes, for instance cutting back on those take-aways and processed meals.
Instead try to eat a diet full of fresh fruits and vegetables, as well as increasing your protein intake.
The reason for this is that protein is slower to digest so will help to keep you feeling fuller for longer. It can also help to keep your energy levels high.
The final word of advice is to get some exercise, even if you have a busy job you should always find a spare 20-30 minutes a day to exercise intensely.
Combining diet, exercise and a proven supplement will certainly help you reach your weight loss goals.
