Just 30 minutes of exercise 4-5 days a week is enough to keep you healthy. There is no need to exercise to overwork yourself as this can be to the detriment of your health.

For the best results you should combine both cardio and resistance training into your workouts. Cardio can improve your fitness while burning calories, while the resistance work can help to build lean muscle that will help to burn even more calories.

Don’t forget to eat a diet rich in protein as this is essential for muscle repair and growth. You should also try to stay as hydrated as possible both during and after each workout.

The ‘Simple Exercise Plan’

1. 3 minutes of light cardio on any machine you wish.

2. Another 15 minutes on your favourite cardio machine, though you should increase the intensity.

3. Next is 15 minutes of weight training. The aim is to use a weight heavy enough to make you tired around the tenth rep.

3a. For your chest and back you should perform 1 set of dumbbell chest presses and 1 set of lat pulldowns.

3b. For your arms you should perform 1 set of standing dumbbell curls and 1 set of tricep extensions.

3c. 1 set of walking lunges and 1 set of dumbbell squats are ideal for your legs.

3d. Crunches are best for your core.

4. Finally spend the last few minutes of every workout stretching your muscles.

So there you have it, a simple exercise plan that wont take hours to complete.

Not only will you feel better for the exercise, but your metabolism would have been given a lift, ideal for burning off those calories and fat.
