#1: Remove temptation

When it comes to weight loss it can be hard to achieve your goal if you are surrounded by temptation.

Therefore it makes sense to remove these temptations. For example if you love chocolate or biscuits then you most certainly do not want to be storing these in plain view.

If you want to eat healthier then I suggest you do the opposite, store these in plain view so that you are more tempted to pick these up the next time you are feeling peckish.

#2: Keep a weight loss diary

To ensure you know exactly what you are eating you should keep a record. You can then look back at this to see if there are any amendments you could make to see better results.

This weight loss diary should also contain your feelings, and whether these feelings have led to temptation.

You should also add progress pictures and your weight loss progress too, as you can then look back over this to see how far you have come. This can be a great motivational tool when you are feeling down and in need of a pick-me-up.

#3: Think before eating

If you really want to achieve your weight loss goals then you need to think about what you are eating before you put it to your mouth. Is the food really the best choice or is there a healthier option?

Another tip would be to think about the food as you are eating it too. This mindful eating will make you more accountable for your actions, and should in theory make you appreciate the food more, so you do not need to eat as much of it to become satisfied.

#4: Be more active

When I say fresh foods I mean more fresh fruit and vegetables, as these are full of the nutrients your body requires for good health, but without the added calories of fruit juices or tinned vegetables.

These packaged fruits and vegetables are often full of sugars and other additives that are certainly not a good idea if weight loss is your goal.

#6: Get some support

Our final tip for helping you achieve your spring weight loss is to get some support.

Hopefully a family member or a friend will be able to support your goals. They will also be able to listen and hopefully provide advice when needed too.

Your local weight loss groups (for example Slimming World) may also be a good option as you will be surrounded by others in the same position.

Research has shown that those with support are more likely to reach their weight loss goals than those without.
