Star Wars Diet

Star Wars Diet

Unless you have been living under a rock for the past few weeks I am sure you have noticed a lot of attention has been given to the new Star Wars The Force Awakens film.

This film is breaking all sorts of box-office records and sees the return of some of our favourite characters including Luke Skywalker and Princess Leia.

Now it has been a few decades since we last saw Mark Hamill and Carrie Fisher playing these roles, so how did they get in shape for their return?

How much weight did they lose?

According to the Hollywood Reported, Mark Hamill lost around 50 pounds to get ready for his role, while Carrie Fisher lost 35 pounds.

Carrie Fisher Weight Loss

How did Mark and Carrie lose the weight?

There is nothing groundbreaking about either of the stars weight loss regimes, Mark has revealed that to achieve his weight loss goals he simply had to cut out all the food that he loves. For example he had cut out bagels and crisps (potato chips for our American readers).

“Look at what I’m eating now instead of potato chips and bagels (speaking about a plate of fruit and vegetables).”

“I’m on the ‘if it tastes good, don’t eat it’ diet.”

Carrie also changed her diet for the better while also increasing the amount of exercise she does.

“I have a harder time eating properly than I do exercising. It’s easier for me to add an activity than to deny myself something.”

This is not the first time she has made this admission, as while being a spokesperson for the Jenny Craig Diet she also spoke about how she struggled to be good on her diet.

All being said, both stars are now slimmer than they have been for years, and seem to be enjoying their time back in the limelight.

You can watch the two stars at your local cinema now that Star Wars The Force Awakens has been released to the public.
