#1: Get some support

If you are looking to successfully lose weight then going it alone is probably not the best idea.

It has been shown that those who get support during their journey are not only more likely to reach their goal weight, but are also more likely to keep the lost weight off too.

Going through the journey with someone else will help motivate you and will ensure you remain accountable for your actions.

I would recommend you looking at a slimming club like Slimming World or Weight Watchers if you have no family or friends willing to go through the journey with you.

These types of club will be full of like-minded individuals who are going through the same journey and experiencing similar types of problem.

#2: Get regular exercise

Regular exercise is one of the main methods you can use to reach your weight loss goals.

Even if you are not used to exercise you should try, even if it is a gentle stroll around the block.

What you do need to do is push yourself to work that much harder each time you workout, if you are not putting any effort in then it is unlikely that you will see much reward.

Strength training will also build muscle too, which will raise your RMR or Resting Metabolic Rate.

This means that you are able to burn off more of those calories without any additional work while resting.

#3: Eat as healthily as possible

This is probably one that you should be doing already, but like I said there is no real secret to weight loss.

To lose weight you should be eating as healthily as possible. You need to create a calorie deficit, which means you need fewer calories in and more calories out.

Start by cutting back on the junk food and processed garbage, but allow yourself the occasional treat to avoid becoming too bored with your stricter regime.

Instead you should be eating plenty of fresh fruits and vegetables, as they are low in calories but are calorie-dense.

Also, good sources of lean protein and fibre should be consumed.

The protein can fill you up and can release energy slowly throughout the day. Protein is also essential for repairing and growing muscle too.

The fibre on the other hand will also fill you up, and as it is slow to digest will keep you feeling full. Fibre can also help with any digestive issues you experience, so less bloating and the removal of stored waste is likely.

What you drink also has an impact on your weight too, so I would suggest cutting out any of those drinks that contain added sugars or sweeteners. It maybe boring but the best drink choice is plain tap water.

Water is free of calories, can curb your appetite and can also help flush out any toxins that prevent weight loss from occurring.

So, now that you know that there is no secret to weight loss, perhaps you will start to knuckle down and use some of these tried and tested methods. They may not be easy, but they will certainly give results.
