For many of us women, our thigh area is where we accumulate fat. It is just an unfortunate fact of life that some are more prone to flabby thighs than others.
If this sounds like you there is no need to simply give up on your efforts to tone up those thighs. There are still ways that you can achieve your goal.
Here are a few tips that could help:
Lose those flabby thighs tip #1 – Burn fat
Although you cannot spot reduce fat from your thighs you can still make a difference by losing fat from all over your body, thereby losing the fat on your thighs.
The first thing that will need to be overhauled is your diet, cut back on the junk food and processed rubbish instead eat a diet full of fresh fruits, vegetables and lean protein sources such as chicken or turkey.
You will also need to make sure you exercise 3-4 times a week, which means intense exercise where you actually will be working up a good sweat and burning off those excess calories.
Lose those flabby thighs tip #2 – Build muscle
Of course cardio has its place in any workout, but you may not be seeing the full benefits at the gym if all you do is spend your time on the treadmill.
One of the best ways to tone up those flabby thighs is to perform weight training.
Building muscle will instantly transform your appearance and will even aid your fat burning efforts too. Muscle burns more calories than fat even while you rest.
Squatting is one of the best exercises you can perform for your legs, and will also tighten your butt too.
Just stick to a weight that you can manage without injuring yourself. It is more important that you lift safely with good form rather than giving yourself an injury trying to show off how much you lift.
If you are concerned about becoming too big or manly just relax, women do not have enough testosterone in their bodies to see the kind of gains you see on stage at these bodybuilding events, nor will you be eating too much to put on excessive bulk.
Lose those flabby thighs tip #3 – Watch what you drink
Drinking empty calories through caffeinated drinks or beverages full of milk and sugar is a sure fire way to gain weight without realising.
You should be drinking water if you are thirsty, as it offers various benefits.
For a start water can help to cut your appetite at mealtimes, plus can curb your cravings between meals too.
Often your body will mistake thirst for hunger so keep a bottle of fresh water handy just in case.
Water can also be used to flush out those toxins that prevent weight loss.
Flabby thighs can seem like a burden, but you don’t have to live with them. Hopefully the above tips will help you banish those flabby thighs ready for the bikini season that is just around the corner.
