5 Ways to Trick your Brain Into Speeding up Weight Loss

5 Ways to Trick your Brain Into Speeding up Weight Loss

If you want to lose weight then you need to be in the right frame of mind.

This means that you should try to remain motivated and dedicated throughout your journey, and if possible should not let any negative thoughts keep you from achieving your goals.

This is probably easier said than done, but the following tricks could help.

#1: Be as specific as possible

Instead of saying to yourself, “I want to lose weight”, say how much weight you wish to lose.

This can be the basis of your goals, so make one larger goal, but set smaller more achievable ones too.

These smaller ones will help motivate you towards your next goal. They will soon add up to something more substantial.

#2: Don’t rely on the scales

While you may think that the weighing scales are all-important, if you are weighing yourself daily you will find that your weight will fluctuate.

This is normal, and is a result of numerous things including water intake and your hormones.

Weight Loss SuccessI would recommend you also look at other aspects too, for instance how you look in the mirror or in pictures.

#3: Set deadlines

If you want to lose weight then it is a good idea to set deadlines for each goal too.

These should be realistic though, but should not be too easy either.

It is probably a good idea to look to lose between 1-2 pounds per week. Anything more than that is likely to be unrealistic and will leave you feeling unmotivated should you fail to achieve your goal by the stated deadline.

#4: Write down your goals

To help focus you onto your goals I would recommend that you write them down.

You could use a few post-it notes to do this, and you could place them in various points around your home as a reminder of what you are aiming to achieve.

#5: Visualise your end result

This maybe difficult for some, but it is a good way to increase your focus on your end goal.

When you are feeling unmotivated, have a moment to close your eyes and visualise how you will look after you have reached your goal weight.

I am sure this simple act will help increase your motivation once more.
