Adele has recently shot back into the publics eye after the release of her single Hello.

However, despite the success of this song, it is not the only thing that has got people talking, as Adele also looks notably slimmer than she usually does.

So how has she managed to lose weight?

Adele Rolling StoneAdele has admitted after speaking to Rolling Stone magazine that she has decided “to get in shape for myself, but not to be a size zero or anything like that.

Firstly with a potential tour upcoming the 27 year old singer has cut back on both carbs and sugar, but not entirely as she states…

“I’d never deprive myself like that!”

She has also admitted that while at the gym she is a fan of weights.

“I’m not, like, skipping to the f***ing gym. I don’t enjoy it. I do like doing weights. I don’t like looking in the mirror.”

“Blood vessels burst on my face really easily, so I’m so conscious when I’m lifting weights not to let them burst in my face.”

So while these are not drastic changes they do seem to be working. You only need to look at her recent photos of Adele to see that for yourself.

How do low carb diets work?

When you undergo a low carb diet you will basically cut back on foods such as bread, pasta, rice and potatoes. You would instead consume more fruit, and vegetables.

It is also recommended that you increase your intake of both protein and healthy fats to compensate.

What are the benefits of weight training?

Weight training is better for weight loss and fat loss than cardio alone, this is because while cardio will burn calories while you workout, those who also lift weights will find that you will continue to burn calories long after your workout has concluded.

In some cases the calorie burning can continue for around 24 hours post-workout.

Another benefit is that lifting weights can help to build muscle, which will help you to burn more calories when at rest. There has been numerous studies that have shown that muscle burns more calories than fat.

How else has Adele lost weight?

As well as the changes to her diet and exercise regime, the Hello singer has revealed that she has also cut back on her intake of tea:

“I used to drink ten cups a day with two sugars in each so I was on 20 sugars a day. Now I don’t drink it and I have more energy than ever.”

It is likely that the sugar intake rather than the actual tea itself that was the issue, however this change has obviously made a noticeable difference to how Adele currently looks and feels.
