If you lead a busy life you may feel that you are unable to lose weight. Yet the truth is that just making a few small and simple changes can make a huge difference to the numbers you see on the scales.
Below you will find just a few small changes that anyone can make, regardless of how busy they are.
#1: Drink black coffee
How do you take your coffee? If you add milk and sugar to it then that is an additional 80 calories per cup.
For those who drink 2 cups daily that will be an extra 58,400 calories over the year.
Simply cutting these extra calories could result in a 16 pound weight loss.
#2: Sniff an apple
A study has found that by simply sniffing a green apple, a pear or a banana for around 15 seconds could help to curb your appetite.
The scientists behind the study believes it tricks your brain into making healthier food choices.
#3: Eat stone fruits
Stone fruits or drupes contain compounds that can reduce insulin resistance, which can hinder your ability to burn off fat.
Next time you are at the supermarket add a few peaches or plums to your basket to benefit from them.
#4: Snack before a party
To prevent overeating at a party I would recommend snacking before you go out.
Have an apple or a little soup and you could reduce your food intake by as much as 20%.
As an average restaurant meal contains 1,200 calories this reduction can make a big difference.
#5: Get support
If you are trying to lose weight alone then you are less likely to succeed.
Those who get support from friends and family are more likely to reach their weight loss goals. This is because they can motivate and help you stick to your healthy habits.
For those who do not get the support they need at home then I would recommend joining your local Weight Watchers or Slimming World, as they will be full of like-minded individuals who are going through the same journey.
#6: Don’t be afraid to microwave your vegetables
For the busy mom, your microwave could be a life-saver as you can simply put your vegetables to cook in there rather than having to fuss with actual cooking.
Canned vegetables are easy to prepare but do not contain the same level of nutrients you will find in fresh or frozen vegetables.
If you do not have time to prepare fresh then the frozen kind will enable you to get those nutrients without losing too much valuable time.
