4 Ways to tell Your Diet Is Not Good for you

4 Ways to tell Your Diet Is Not Good for you

If you are attempting to lose weight you may be willing to try various diets that may see results but may leave you feeling miserable.

Is there any way to tell if your current diet is not good for you? Here are a few tell-tale signs that perhaps you need to change your diet:

#1: You feel tired all the time

If you are getting the recommended amount of sleep, yet still wake up tired and find yourself struggling for energy throughout the day then your diet needs to be changed.

Chances are if your energy levels are low then you are deficient in protein, Vitamin D and Vitamin B12.

#2: You struggle to poop

This may not be a nice subject to talk about but if you find that you often struggle with constipation or IBS (Irritable Bowel Syndrome) then your diet may be lacking in fat and fibre.

I suggest you look at what you are eating to see if there is an issue.

#3: You are always ill

There are certain foods that can cause inflammation to occur in the body, which can affect your immune system that in turn can cause you to suffer various illnesses such as colds, headaches and sore throats.

If this sounds like you then perhaps you should cut back on processed foods, sugar and alcohol, while increasing your water intake to help remove the toxins from your body.

#4: You suffer from unbearable cravings

We all suffer from cravings from time to time, yet when you are dieting these cravings can make your life incredibly miserable.

So what causes these cravings? Well, they are your bodies way of telling you that it is missing vital nutrients.

For example, if you crave salty foods you could be lacking protein.

Take a minute to look closely at your current meal plans to see if there is anything missing. If you are eating a well-rounded diet plan that includes everything your body needs then you should find that cravings become less of an issue.

If you are a vegan or vegetarian and suffer from sugar cravings you may want to speak to your doctor so that they can check your protein and vitamin levels.

Also, another thing to consider if you find that cravings become unbearable are your emotions as well as stress. I suggest perhaps yoga or meditation could help alleviate these issues.

What your Diet Should do For You

If your diet is working as it should then you should be:

  • Feeling energised
  • You should feel satisfied
  • Your digestion should be good
  • You don’t experience reactions to your food

What else to consider?

While your diet is important for weight loss, remember it is just one aspect that you need to conquer.

Another important aspect is exercise, but as long as your workout 2-3 times a week at a high intensity, preferably with resistance or weight training, then you will soon start to see the results you want.
